I was seating some 7x57 with my rcbs seater, was seating the last few and felt a pop in the press, I though the little Lee finally had it. After 10 minutes checking the press over, I check the die and the seating stem split. Don't know how I happened, I only have 2 maybe 3 thou neck tension. These are not to old maybe 20 years I do use them a lot but never seen any fail like this.

just thought I should share this, sorry for the pictures.

Its not the age. It’s the cycles.

I have a new aspiration.

I want to load so much ammunition, I split a seating stem! Like Troy did!:)
At one time I had 5 7x57 shot them often, even had a beautiful 88/05 commission mannlicher carbine in 7x57. Now I only have the ruger 77 and my 09 mauser in 7x57ai, being out of work and not having many places to shoot anymore I've slowed down now much I shot.

Nope, just goes in......

I've never even heard of that happening .
Ya interested to see what rcbs says, if there even open Monday. I need to look and see if I have anymore broken stuff from them. I may ask some details about the rebel press since some guys want to know where it's made and such.

Called rcbs today, got a recording they are shut down and under lockdown. Said emails can still be answered. I sent them one a few hours ago, see if there respond. I have a Lee seater so not like I am dead it the water.

Edit, just checked my other emails. Rcbs just sent me one saying there sending the replacement parts and should get a tracking number soon. They have when above and beyond considering all that's happening lately. This is why I use so much of there stuff, no only if the new rebel press was usa made I'd like to get one.

Just noticed your post. You gotta luv RCBS customer service plus free replacement parts.

I picked up that Ruger 77 in 25/06 and that used set of C&H 25/06 dies. The stem in the resizing die was bent. I called that number for C&H you gave me snd ordered a new stem, mouth bsll and decapping pin. I gave them my card number and got that stuff in today with just under $22 put on my card.
If it was RCBS dies that stuff would of been free.
Tonight I was going to get started on resizing some 25/06 and the dies will not work in my Hornady LnL press. So these dies are garbage to me.
I ordered a set of RCBS dies on Ebay.

Never seen s seater stud split like yours did. Bad metal I'd guess.
I have a set of RCBS 7X57 dies that I picked up.some where or another. 8mm as well.
Atleast RCBS still has great customer service even durring this big shut down.

I have countless rounds on that rcbs die, but even surprised it broke. I just got in the 7x57 ai dies today, there a fl and seater rcbs and a Redding neck. Just got done cleaning them up, the rcbs are the old style. I believe they still have some parts for them.

there's a reason most of my dies are rcbs,

Why won't the 25/06 does work? To short?

To short for the LnL bushing.
I have an extra RCBS press that I could mount up and use them in but I'm not into screwing in % out the dies .

You have to like the fast turn around time from RCBS.
Here shortly When I buy a case prep center it will be the RCBS.

I just missed two cases of small rifle primers for $125 a case.
Day late & a dollar short happens all the time.
I did pick up a case of large rifle primers for $125 a couple of months ago.

Do you get to your fathers place much?
That gun shop we went to might have some reloading stuff left, It is out there in the country away from the large masses of people.
All the gin shops out here are closed. I just got a sale flyer in from Cabelas and they have been closed for weeks and will most likely be closed until may 4th.
