It is one of the pre-war commercial models, I've been told. Not sure I buy that one. I don't think the Japanese people were allowed to possess firearms in the 30s and I cant imagine much of a market elsewhere.
I've seen that episode and right you are. Probably the biggest strike against the 94 is the same strike against the Nambu's.... that anemic caliber. The 94s in the pics are in the Rock Island Arsenal Museum, which is currently, understandably, closed to the public. Arsenal Island is closed to all visitors. You should check out Forgotten Weapons. Ian is of the opinion that the Type 94 is actually a very good handgun for the time. It wouldn't be the first arm of the era to get an undeserved reputation.
My modern sporting rifle told me that all of the others needed to get some plastic stocks.Perfect. Only one suggestion, perhaps some wood furniture on your modern sporting rifle could help it blend in better. Other than that, continue the good work.
M1 carbine Inland with postal meter stock, got it at a gun show in the 90's, it is a semi safe queen, condition is so good that it only goes to the range on special occasions. I have a Blue Sky import carbine that gets most of the range time.

Thanks! They’re pretty comfortable grips, plus I find they add to the 1980s aesthetic that fits the pistol’s vintage.Dragonfly I see we share the same fine taste in Hi-Powers, right down to the Pachmayr grips!
Anybody notice that the P-38s ( the can opener, not the guns ) are a RIGHT HANDED only device? DISCRIMINATION!!!This is a great thread and I'd like to thank corpral Agarn for starting it. Just what all of us quarantined folks need. I've done enough reloading, cleaning, and general work around here along with more trips out into the woods to just hike around. Tonight I'm bored so I took a pic of my P-38 collection; all 4 of them. (Some of the younger guys may not get it, or does Uncle Sam still have P-38's ? ). Here they are, all four of 'em:View attachment 903469
IDK if this thread has been started yet or not.
Many of us are home.
Lets see some gun pics.
Sure, I'll go first:
