I have a Freedom Arms model 83 field grade 454 Casull / 45 Colt in very good condition
Been offered to trade for a miroku Charles Daly Superior over under 12 gauge with 26 inch barrels with hand engraving and original case also in very good condition very lightly used.

Your values seem to be all over the place so I have no idea what it's really worth could be as low as 600 as high as 1800

The revolver is worth at least 1400 and I have it listed for sale at 1250

I wouldn't sell it or trade it but I have another Freedom Arms model 83 454 Casull that is ported as well as many other high caliber revolvers.

What can you tell me about the quality value and practicality of the shotgun please?

Miroku Charles Daly O/U shotguns are quality guns. They are similar to a Browning Citori and as well made as Miroku made them both. The downfall of that gun is that it actually isn't a Browning and it has 26" barrels. Longer barrels are what's in style now. As far as the engraving, its usually nice, but I don't know that is "hand" done....I believe that gun is about a $900 gun with $100 of it being for the case.

You might go to Gun Broker, completed auctions, and see what the CDs actually sold for, not the asking price.

I have had a couple of Chas Daleys, one a Venturre and the other a Superior. They are good guns but nowhere worth as much as a comparable Citori. If trading, I'd probably not allow more than $500 for the shotgun. If it is choked Sk and Sk it might bring a few more bucks but most likely as a 26" it is i.c. and mod which would make a good field gun but nothing for the trap or skeet field, sporting, maybe.

Are parts available for the Shotgun? They made a interesting shotgun about forty years ago that had the hammers mounted on the top and bottom instead of side my side. Neat trim design but repair parts may be hard to find.

How do you check on GunBroker for what something actually sold for instead of checking what the asking price is?

I decided not to do the trade and May list my gun on GunBroker right now it's only on Virginia gun trader people can be pretty cheap on there
I can relate to that LoL

26" barrels, probably IC/Mod. If you shoot Skeet, or hunt grouse or pheasant on game farms with dogs, an $800 gun at best, maybe 900 with the case. The 'engraving' is not hand done.

Wait till the auction ends.

I have one.
I shot a few thousand required doubles back in the 80s with it.
It was a good gun, it never agreed with me too well. It is a looker though. Selective trigger and ejectors.
Unfortunately it isnt running right now....hopefully it just needs some TLC. It's not resetting the trigger.

I bought, shot for a couple of years, and sold a Charles Daley trap model O/U that was very nice for less than $700 both ways. Great guns for the money. Not such good guns to try to sell now. If you need a bird gun it will be a good one. If not....,.I would pass.

All good points. I had one once, smacked my cheek so darned hard after the first field of trap I didn’t even want to shoot the next field. Great gun, parts, if needed, rarely, difficult to impossible to get. Similar to but not close enough to a Citori to use Browning parts. Nice gun, not that nice though!

I have the same issue with the Citoris (pre 725) and to a lesser extent with a Superposed that I owned years back. The Italian profile guns tend to fit me better but plenty of folks love the Citori fit.
