Most important thing you've learned on THR

I like being able to ask questions, no matter how dumb you think it is, and not get a bunch of ass****s telling you how stupid you are.
I agree 100%. I left several forums due to this. Heck over on Predator masters the Mod's would even jump on you and harass you.

I remember that signature line as well. My first priming tool was a plastic tray with a handle (Lee Prime XR) and I was wondering for years before why to not put primers in a glass jar or tube.
Off topic for the thread, but I have some possible insight about where this caution might have originated. In the first version of The ABCs of Reloading Dean Grinnell related a story about a friend who reloaded on a progressive machine and who apparently dumped all the primers for the day’s production into a quart Mason jar before loading them into whatever primer dispensing mechanism his machine used. One day he flipped a pack of primers into a nearly full jar and one of them detonated, setting off a sympathetic detonation of the whole jar. The friend did not survive the explosion.

This was one of the first sites I joined, a little late to the internet party. The other was Castboolits. What I didn't know, and learned, was just how nice the people were on these two sites. I later learned just how awful some people can be on others, on some the negativity is overwhelming...

I originally joined to find some info, reloading data, and parts for an older rifle I had acquired, and decided to stay for all the great general information and camaraderie with people of like interests.

I have learned “that a heart will not be practical until it is made unbreakable.” - oh sorry, that is what the Scarecrow learned from the Wizard.
On this form, I have learned the diversity of firearms perspective and opinion; extremes of opinion on a common interest. I never get tired of reading other’s thoughts about our hobby.

Ah, thank you for that info. I hadn't heard of the story behind it before.

That I probably ought have bigger ears and a smaller mouth.
Hear, hear.

I learned how to reload... almost 100% from this forum (primarily from Walkalong and bds/LiveLife.

Improving my handgun skills thanks to lots of help from LiveLife and many others.

Learned there are a lot of good people left in the world. People that go out of their way to help strangers they've never met, send them stuff they need, offer comfort, etc. And this encourages me to do the same.

Best forum in the world, IMO.

When asking for answers from experienced members, criticism can be hard to take BUT you need to LISTEN to all answers including the ones you do not like too in order to learn.

I learned that sooner or later I'm gonna shoot myself in the butt with my Glock:cool:

Actually quite a few things about reloading, good sources for components and gun parts.

Early in my internet forum-joining days, I what I thought was a really great question (and bear in mind, I'd already had by then almost two decades' worth of experience with M-16s) on a certain AR-centric forum; after some of the many belittling and patronizing responses -- I haven't been back there since.

What I've learned here is that every single THR member that I've met in person (many, many since I joined in 2004) was a decent, principled intelligent -- and (mostly) totally normal -- individual. Not at all like what the anti-gun folk would have you believe about firearms enthusiasts.

Same exact experience for me.

I have learned more than I can remember from you all! ;)

Really, there is so much I have learned from so many here. Civility: A person can ask a question without concern of being called names or accused of being a troll, or.... Well you get the idea. :)
 To THR!

Was a member of the old Firing Line forum and when that shut the lights off, THR was born. Several of us migrated over and haven’t looked back. Between the old Firing Line and THR I’ve learned so much that I can’t point to one specific thing. Thanks everyone for being a part of our family here.
