how to get decapping pin out of a empty case?

Heat the case up with a lighter or propane torch, should pull right off.

Just support the bullet side of the case in some vise jaws or similar and tap the decap pin out. Should come out fairly easy. Pins are hardened, brass is soft.

Either of these will work; I'd opt for the second, quicker.

I have bent the Lee pins, they are quite a bit softer than the RCBS types.
Yea, every once in a while you run into a small primer hole. I've had a few in almost 40 years of reloading.
Berdan primed cases are another decapping headache when mixed in with Boxer primed cases.
Glad the OP got his decapper out.

this was depriming nato brass that I had in the coffee can
figure I can swage them and have yet another project to eat up time- I'm furloughed for at least 3 months
can't shoot as the ranges are closed, and my neighbors are home lol
might as well get all the reloading projects out of the way.

Could you explain how and what tools to use for swaging 9mm NATO brass? I shoot at a range the Navy uses and have acquired quite a bit. Thanks!

I guess I could have bought the 9mm accessory but I didn't

Did just this over the weekend. Went to decap some .308 brass using a die I had not used in years. Very first piece of brass the danged decapping pin came out in the case.
BUT, I simply raised the ram back up all the way until the pin came back up through the die. Got out two wrenches and tightened it good then brought the ram back down. Pin stayed where it should and I decapped the rest of the brass with no further problems.

And, run a piece of coarse sandpaper around the head of the pin so the collet will grip it a bit harder.

I've used a cutting wheel on a grinder to cut the head off.
