Share tips for AR15 Cleaning

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question:
What do you guys mean when you say to run your AR "wet" and that they will malfunction if "dry"? You just mean well oiled vs not oiled...Right?
 
Yes, wet with oil. You don’t need so much that the oil drips off, but a visible film is enough.

The exact type of oil doesn’t matter too much, just have some on the BCG. Oil and carbon is still a good lubricant. Oil and sand not so much, but it’s still better than dry and sand.

I bought an ultrasonic cleaner and I pull the BCG, disassemble, and run it in some water, Simple Green, and a couple drops of dish soap. Rinse in warm water and dry.

The BCG gets lubricated and put back, then cycled a few times with a function check to make sure it is correct.

About once every couple years I put some foaming Wipe Out in the bore and run some patches through it.
