Pretty sure that gorgeous nickel job is a 5-incher......

That Bubba Special snubby is hideous.....and I love it!

Sadly, the nickel is a cut-down but I have a correct .32 barrel/sight on the way.
Bubba-tastic?:D... Yup, there was NO way I wasn't buying it when I saw it. A pal scooped it up for me knowing it was my bag, baby!

Todd.

No Model 10s though I owned quite a few over the years. My favorite was always the heavy barrel version. All I currently have is a pre-Model 10 that is not a Victory Model as it doesn't have any of the military markings on it and does not have the "V" prefix serial number. More than likely it was a gun assigned to a guard at some bank, defense factory, or non-military installation, somewhere in the U.S.

IMG_0364(1).jpg I have a bunch of K frames ; I'll stick to the OP rules and post my one actual model 10.
The story: about 1 1/2 years back I decided I wanted a true 10. I have some M&Ps , a (pre) Victory , several 15s , but no actual 10 at that time. This one popped up on Gunbroker. Bidding was slow , probably because of rust blotches. I got ahold of the seller - he was a cop in charge of an evidence lock-up in a smallish town in Oklahoma. I told him that my impression was that the rust was superficial , as though the gun had been wet briefly from a one time exposure. He - a great guy - concurred and sent additional images. I got it for something like $237 ; the trigger is velvet , lock up is excellent , grips are numbered to the gun. A quick Flitz session brought it up to what you see here.

Definitely a keeper.

Howdy

I only have two actual Model 10s. Both are Model 10-5. Both have 4 inch barrels. Both made around 1964 or so.

The revolver at the bottom of this photo is my other Model 10. Best deal I ever got on a S&W, $125 out the door. Of course that was probably close to 20 years ago. Still missing from my collection is a Model 10 with a tapered six inch barrel. The revolver at the top of the photo is a 38 Military and Police 4th Change, the direct predecessor of the Model 10. This one left the factory in 1938. Notice the different hammer and front sight profiles.

Let's take a trip down memory lane. The original 38 Military and Police, the Model of 1899 Army-Navy Revolver. This one shipped in 1899. Notice the lack of an under barrel latch for the front of the ejector rod. The only 38 M&P without that feature.

38 M&P 1st Change, 1906. Note the large mushroom shaped cap at the end of the ejector rod. Notice in addition to 38 Special, this one is also marked for the U.S. Service Cartridge (38 Long Colt)

This one is chambered for the 32WCF (32-20) cartridge. So it is a 32-20 Hand Ejector, from 1916.

A 38 M&P Target Model from 1917. This is the predecessor of the K-38, and the Model 14. Notice the tall front sight and the teeny windage adjustment screw in the rear sight.

A 38 M&P from 1920. Very worn on the outside, but with a little cleanup inside it locks up and shoots as well as the day it left the factory.

One of my favorites, a 38 M&P with round butt from 1939. Note the hard rubber grips.

A 38 M&P snubby with a 2" barrel from 1950. Note the 'speed hammer'.

I just inherited a very nice model 10 from my dad. I found it buried with the box in his safe. It has over sized target grips on it that look a bit funky but it handles nice. I have no idea where he got it or where the original grips are.

Driftwood

One of my favorites, a 38 M&P with round butt from 1939. Note the hard rubber grips.

One of my favorites too from your S&W collection! Love the round butt configuration and the hard rubber grips! Thanks as always for sharing them with us!
