Due to a knee injury, I need to wear a knee brace. The one I have won’t fit over my pants, so now I’m forced to wear sweatpants.

I used to appendix or pocket carry J Frames. They are way to heavy for my pants. Has any body carried wearing sweats and how do you do it?

thanks

When I'm not working i'm typically in basketball shorts or sweatpants. The trick is to make sure they have a good drawstring that can be tied tight and stays tight. Newer ones tend to work better than older pairs. I normally daily carry at about 2-3 o'clock, with shorts and sweatpants I tend to go more the appendix route. I use the same holster regardless of where i'm carrying, even when off body bag carrying I have rigged it to where the same holster works in bag. But that is for the few seldom times I cant have on body but still want it within arms length.

I have heard others that say they still use a belt underneath the shorts to keep it in place better.

I have a pair that I just yesterday fixed the drawstring on finally. I had been using them without one and the elastic stretched a little to where the only gun they would hold up anymore was my LCP which I carried in a DeSantis pocket holster.

So I would say buy an LCP if you can. They go for something like $200 now, right? Everyone should have a couple.

Button up shirt and a shoulder rig is about the best option.
I prefer this method for concealed carry and working.
You could go to a jeans store like Cavenders or Drysdales. There are so many different cuts of jeans that you could find one that fits your brace inside it.
Good luck on your recovery. I've had 2 knee surgeries. I didn't do proper pt the first time and regretted it. The other one I was much more careful during the healing process.

Nope I cant see myself with an LCP. I EDC a G2C daily regardless of what im wearing, it really just depends on the persons body type. Somehow my wife can carry a G19 no problem, but for me it prints more than anything else I could carry.

I can pocket carry either an LCP or an airweight j-frame in sweatpants. Of course I need to tie the drawstring with both if I'm walking much, but it doesn't have to be super snug.

I've even shoved my P938 in an appendix holster for a quick trip to pick up pizza and it worked OK wearing sweatpants, though if I had needed to draw there's a chance the holster would have come out with the gun.

sitting in place right now with sweatpants and wearing my smartcarry with my 642 owb. works great.

Belly Band. Itll help your back too, its like a crappy back brace.

I use a Pistol Wear holster when running. The band keeps my firearm very stable for jogging and will do fine with sweatpants. Other types of belly bands will work as well depending how much activity you are doing.
