I am getting ready to load some 30/30 Winchester with IMR 4895. Anyone else using this combination? If so do you like the results?

Just about any medium to slightly faster burning powder is fine for the 30-30. What bullet? I've grown to like the 165 to 170 best when I'm not shooting cast.

I like H414 with 170 gr Speer Hot Core bullets and I have used H322 for 150gr with good results.

4895 should work too.

yes imr and h 4895 work great in the 30-30. also varget and precision rifle does too. i have use all with the 125 fphp, 150 fp, and 170 fp bullets for nra lever action silhouette matches in a marlin 336cb.

I used it in 30-30 ackley. Worked very well with 150gr bullets, but I had a 26” barrel. I was however able to approach 2700fps

It will work well. I tested IMR 4895 and AA2520, a ball powder which duplicates the pressure curve of IMR 4895. They were both OK in my Marlin. My best powders were VV-N135 , IMR 3031 shortcut, and IMR 4064, in terms of accuracy. The best was ten shot groups of 2 MOA at 100 yards, which opened up to under 3 MOA at 200 yards. It was only after 500 rounds of testing did I figure out that the bullets in my Marlin 336 have to jump a half inch before touching the rifling. The chamber is huge.

What I believe, is that powders that provide tight extreme spreads and standard deviations shoot the best in the lever actions. I also came to the conclusion that 2150 to 2200 fps was the best velocity range for 170 grain bullets in my lever action. The thing was very sensitive to velocity and velocity variations.

Using 170 gr. Speer deep curl jacketed

I don't know about the Deep Curls, but I used to load the 170grn HotCor Speers in my Marlin 336 over H322, and only got mediocre accuracy. I switched to Winchester 170's and my groups tightened by half. Recently, not having any more H322 or Winchester Silvertip component bullets, I tried Hornady 170's and IMR3031, and I got the same basic accuracy as I did with the Winchester bullets. If your results are unsatisfactory, and you have them available, try a different bullet.

Most of my 30-30 loads use cast bullets and faster powders, but I4895 worked well with 160 grain Hornady FTX bullets.

Leverevolution is what I use for my son's Model 94 Winchester. According to Hodgdon, it provides the highest velocity with most bullet weights and has proven accurate in his rifle. He prefers the 150 gr bullets.

Leverevolution delivers about 100 fps more than most other published powders. In my 20" Marlin, 35 grs and the 160 grs FTX will hover around 2385. I hot-rod my Savage 340 22" above max published data, but don't get much more than 2450.

I use IMR4227 with cast and have used IMR 3031 to good effect on the past with jacketed. I haven't used any 4895 in 30-30, but it's a versatile and useful powder.

I use IMR4198 in both my .30-30 and .308 cast bullet loads (Both Savage 99's... and a 336) with very good results. I tried IMR4227 in the .308 Savage, and my SD was single-digit, so I might explore that a bit.
