AR-15 Front Sight Height?

I am installing a new gas block on my AR rifle, being the knob that I am I have forgotten how to determine which front sight height(low profile, standard, high) I need.

I am installing a "Yankee Hill Machine Low Profile Gas Block".

I have a similar one on my YHM gas block made by Aero Precision.

The only AR I know of that requires a non standard height front BUIS is the DPMS Oracle. There of course may be others.

That will depend. Do you have a flat top, detachable carry handle, or fixed A2 handle? Measure your old FSB and find out what you have. And don’t order a plastic one.

M1key gave the correct answer for the OP. The Op is using a short gas block with rail so he needs the "gas block height" front sight.
