Along with your firearms, leather gear, and other accoutrements, is that a Randall Model 1 in that leather sheath? The reason I ask is that from the handle and nickel silver double hilt it sure looks a lot like my Randall Model 1!

The one in the photo was made by Cold Steel ages ago. I've had it at least 10 years. They are almost identical in handle and blade design.

Thanks for info! I seem to recall that knife along with another company (Blackjack Knives?), that made knives similar in configuration to the Randall Model 1.

What do you think the chances are that was accidental? They even exactly copied the colors and order of the spacers in front of the handle. lol

Not really even much of a coincidence when you read Blade HQ's advertising copy: "Cold Steel's R1 Military Classic is an exact replica of the original, but at a very reasonable price." That price being $239 when they have them in stock. The BlackJack Classic Model 7 is another Randall replica going for slightly less at the nominal price of $224.95.

I do. I used to use a strongside holster, but decided it rubbed the cantle of my saddle and when cantering or jumping logs, would sometimes get out of position.

LOL yeah riding drag has it's downsides! The dust is probably #1

My horse is a real sweetheart but she knows a thing or two about being mean.

She's been known to bite.
Cows, mostly, but occasionally she will take a nip at me. She hasn't actually gotten a hold of me in years. It's a game she likes to play.
Best mount I've ever had.

I can ride, that's sure, but I'm not really too handy with the rope. I practice a few times a year just to retain the low level of skill I have, but I'm no roping genius.
Now a whip? I'm good at that.

I have always enjoyed the ranch work. It sure can be frustrating sometimes but it's honest and rewarding.

And truth be told, I'm kind of a part timer these days... I had to get a real job when I grew up.

My wife and I try to take photos and video to share with the world as the way my folks run cattle is a dying method. There are just very few place left that do it this way.

I will say that it's a hard life for those who choose to do cowboyin' full time.
