Sometimes it surprises me what people will do. In any case I ended up with a new to me Beretta 391 Teknys 12ga today. Goes well beside my old 390 I think. Been cleaning and rubbiing on it all afternoon. I don't think the gas system had ever been cleaned, A little soaking and it came out nicely. Looking forward to putting a few clays to a quick death when this pandemic thing passes. IMG_4498.JPG

I get a kick out of things that came into being in the second quarter or second half of my life as being "old". Autos when I was a kid all looked like humpback Brownings, Remingtons, or a few others.
That said, you got a good pair there. Enjoy your old guns.

Thanks Papa I hope to enjoy it soon. Seems like anything that is not current production is considered an "old" gun to many. In some cases the younger group have no clue about anything that doesn't have the tactical look. The 391 Teknys above was made in 2006 the same year I joined this forum. Not very old. The A390ST shown in the pic was new in 1991 and is an early 390. Beretta dropped a little weight off that model and started calling it the AL390. Still not very old to me.

I'm shooting trap with either a Rem 870TB or a Browning Superposed Lightning, and once in a while a BT 99. Made in 1975, 1964, 1974 respectively. I was well into my thirties when. The "younger" ones were made. 75 and holding a 96% average at 16 and handicap.
Age is relative.
I also shoot some old 1100s, made in the late 70s.

Yep! This was my first official trap gun. It taught me about shotgun fit etc. I scored my first perfect round the second time I went out with this 1100. I learned about trap guns shooting high etc and what that means. My go to gun now is actually a 686 Beretta. But then I like to shoot a variety of guns. I enjoy learning how they work specifically and the differences etc. Recently 28ga has been my fascination. I will be 61 soon and I don't care to keep score so much anymore as long as I enjoy myself. I usually know how many I missed easily. 23,24,25 is normal for me. anything above 90 out of 100 is a good day.

Beretta made some beautiful 391 guns. I love my 391s and I think you will really enjoy the Teknys. With the Teknys you are well dressed anywhere you go.
