You might get more response if you changed that to "have you ever seen anyone injured from shooting gun." Because man, I have a couple of stories.

In training? Been hit with frags from steel targets, nothing requiring a doctor. For real? Hit by frags, severely concussed, and 7 teeth lost from RPG blast, concrete frags in face and arm from small arms fire, shot in forearm, hit in side by frags from a friendly 40 mm round that was fired a little too close. Permanent hearing damage from lots of bangs over the years- sometimes didn't have ear pro in because the enemy doesn't say "eyes and ears" before things start.

Well these are partially a result of not using ear protection in my youth.

If that were the case, and can’t argue the logic, wouldn’t an awful lot of content in these pages qualify.

My younger brother gets scope eye about anytime he shoots anything of mine above .223.
My dad has gotten slide thumb twice from my P238 despite me yelling "get your thumb down!" Right before he pulled the trigger.
As for me, an occasional empty .45 brass down the back of my shirt is about it. Which is why I make sure my shirt isn't still tucked in if I shoot after work.

Yes, but it was quite intentional. It happens when governments disagree.

I haven't witnessed anyone being injured by firearms and I've had a degree of tinnitus as long as I can remember. Way before exposure to a .22. As a young adult I especially remember a Judas Priest concert where I was 3 rows from the stage that made my ears ring for days afterwards. As an adult I worked in high noise environments (petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants, marine vessels and docks) and despite serious lack of use of hearing protection until I was about 30, my annual audiology tests showed little loss. I went through chemotherapy in 2016 - 2017 and my tinnitus took a significant permanent increase as a known possible side effect. I'd still do it all over again even if I knew I'd have this permanent side effect instead of simply knowing it was a risk.

I never wore hearing protection when shooting until I was in my 30's. No significant hearing loss. My left ear, the one closest to the sound had a very slight loss, I can't hear certain tones. It is not noticeable and the docs said the tones I couldn't hear were not common anyway. My right ear was still 100% up until about 8 years ago when I had a sudden, and complete loss of hearing in my right ear. Went to bed one night with perfect hearing woke up deaf in that ear. It was not noise related.

I've been hit with one ricochet from a 357 mag. I saw the bullet coming back and it hit my shin. Stung a bit, about like someone had thrown a rock and hit me, but no serious injury.

No personal witness, but I've known 2 kids who were accidentally shot. One was at a dove hunt with his father. A shotgun was leaning against a chair, fell and discharged hitting the kid, (about 10 at the time) in the calf. I didn't know the kid until he was high school age. One of his calves didn't have a lot of mass to it, but he managed to do fine. He played high school basketball and was the QB on the football team.

Another had a 22 discharge somehow while crossing a fence. The guy told me it hit him in the gut and he thought he was going to die. But the bullet hit his leather belt at just the perfect point where it had to pass through 3 layers of leather. This would have been in the 1970's BTW. The older guys will understand the kind of belts used back in the day.

The bullet lodged just under his skin but did not penetrate the ab muscles. He said he squeezed the bullet out just like he would a pimple. Other than some bruising he was fine. He was in high school at the time, but in his 30's before telling his parents.

Many years ago my ex father in law bought s couple of muzzle loaders.
A rifle and handgun, both in .45cal.
I had never shot a black powder firearm, so he did the loading. No idea what the powder charge was but shooting the rifle went quite well. Managed to hit a target on a fence post at about 75yds.
The handgun shooting didn't go so well. He loaded up the pistol and handed it to me.
I fired the shot and the pistol recoiled back and the lockwork and cut the web if my hand and blood ran everywhere. My ex father in law was laughing his a** off until he saw the blood running down my arm.
He had loaded it with a very heavy charge of black powder as a "joke".

Yeah...he was a bit of a jerk on his good days and an arrogant piece of trash the rest of the time.
I don't miss having him for a FIL and I didn't mourn when he died several years after my first wife and I divorced.

An older friend of a friend fired a small 380 pistol after basic safety instruction at the range with his thumbs crossed. He didn't complain, but it looked like it hurt with the cut on his thumb. Wish I had been watching him in time to say STOP. I am certain he never did it again.

I had a star 380 that would bite the web of my hand if I didn't make sure that my pinky was below the mag.

I was on a firing line in a C W reenactment when a German 6 flute musket cap shrapnelled. The piece hit my left eyebrow and put a hole in my kepi.

My Astra 400 tried to kill me a couple of years ago. What happened is self explanatory from the pics. The gun is (was) one of the newer 400s and I was shooting CCI 9mm Largo ammo . The rear half of the slide whacked me squarely in the eye. My glasses saved me. It popped the lens cleanly out of the frames and the whole thing hit me with the lens acting as a shield. I came away with only a shiner.

Of course, I immediately ran out and bought another 400 !!!

Nothing too serious. I've seen scope eye a few times.
I've seen people get cut by a slide because their hand was in the wrong place.
I've seen people get minor burns when shooting a revolver because their hand was in the wrong place near the front of the cylinder.
I wasn't there for this one, but I know a guy who had a Remington 742 in .308 come apart on him. He had to go to the hospital and get shards of steel dug out of him. Remington paid his medical bills and sent him a nice new rifle. They're lucky he wasn't a sue happy person. He just wanted his doctor bills paid.

This happened to me not long ago. It was pretty heavy 310 grain .44 magnum loads. Nothing major, just bit me a little.

Not by gun but as a teen another got hold of some 209s. Thought it cool to put them on floor a hit with hammer. About time I said no a primer went in the side of my knee. He wasn't welcome after that.
