How to carry with sweatpants

It seems like wearing a belt or shoulder rig goes against the point of wearing sweatpants in the first place: comfort.
Per the OP, the point of the sweatpants is to accommodate a knee brace. Plenty of ways to carry with sweatpants, most, except the belt of shoulder rig require significant compromises in functionality. If comfort is the only goal, leave the gun home.

I too, have a left knee brace and right ankle brace, products of my time with my Uncle Sammy....he also taught me the value of carrying the load on your shoulders (ALACE PACK), not your waist, that's why I use suspenders as stated above. Not just for sweat pants but jeans also with all the normal impedimenta in the pockets.

I think a lightweight pistol is key.
I also like paddle holsters.

Keltec P32 gets plenty of use, especially in the summer. (Please no caliber war). I believe it weighs around 6-7 oz empty. And It works with gym shorts or whatever in a Remora holster IWB. I also a Remora with the additional clip to hold more securely.
As one poster said, Just keys etc. in a pocket can drag a pair of light weight shorts etc. down.

I use a DeSantis Inside Heat for my Glock 42 when I'm wearing sweat pants...

I use this with gym shorts when walking in the neighborhood with my wife.

Funny,I use that safe bolted into my truck.

Bet you get lots of strange looks with that gun safe in your pants = and btw, what do you use to hold up your pants as I tried your method and even using belt & suspenders it was not about to happen.

You think I would know by now to always include complete operating instructions. You never know who's gonna need them. ;)

I wonder what Secret Service agents have worn while jogging with former Presidents Carter, Clinton and George W. Bush? I’m guessing a belly band rather than Smart Carry or various carry underwear. (Those Sigs are fairly heavy.)
Anyone know for sure?

A SS agent I knew under Clinton described their jogging holsters to me years ago. It was higher on the chest and had straps over the shoulders. Like a belly band and shoulder holster had weird offspring. They were not bought anywhere but rather custom ordered and made for each agent. Hopefully they use something updated today.

I have three pistol wear holsters and agree. The other option is a fanny pack or ankle holster.

I really like mine, I just don't use it as much as I would like. Only issue I had with mine was the "cell phone" carrier isn't big enough for the phones I like.

I just wear my gun belt with a mag pouch and a T-shirt covers it all.
Don't have to worry about your sweatpants sagging.

FEEDBACK: I got a smartcarry holster. It is frigging awesome. I have not worn it with jeans, but with sweats smartcarry is a fantastic. I’m carrying an L frame and it’s so comfortable I use it in home as well.

Glad it is working out for you. Was going to suggest it, but someone else had already. My wife lives in sweats and them other pants women wear, so finding a way for her to carry, had me get her a smartcarry. She actually uses it while out doing her farm chores when I am at work. She understands there will be nobody showing up in time if she has a problem. So she carries at home along with her phone. I tell her the phone is for after the problem is solved.

One a side note...

I was doing roofing work with a co-worker this weekend.

While I didn't have any problems carrying like normal, access to your carry weapon might be problematic while wearing a tool belt.

With the smart carry, do you wear it outside of the sweat pants or do the sweatpants go over it? This is the first time I've come across the smart carry...
