Glock 17 or Glock 19x?

Sparky, thats one reason why i never go with colored pistols. Always seems like the finish wears so much faster. had one and it looked like crap after a couple months in a safariland holster.

Honestly, if there was a Gen 5 17 in the same color and configuration as the 19X, I would have went with that.

I carried mine for a year in Kydex and it still looks new, the only small spots its wearing are hard to see against the color.

Toughest finish of any Glock I've had, except maybe my Gen 5 19 but I didn't carry it as long before I switched EDC.

FAR tougher than Gen 3 and 4 19s, 17, 26 and 21 I've owned.

Thats good to know JR24. I was curious of that.

Worth noting that there were a number of folks who did report pretty weak finish on the 19X as well, but many others (like me) found it very tough.

I'm not sure if it's related to holster type or just some bad batches.

Never really cared for the total FDE color scheme on a gun though I must confess I'm strangely attracted to guns with a blued/black slide and a FDE frame. Go figure! Having said that I would go with a G45 over the G19X, and over a G17.

There is a good chance you'll shoot the 19x better. It has the new barrel and the Gen 5 trigger is better than the Gen 4 trigger. I think you'll shoot any Gen 5 better than your current 17.

Like I said earlier, my duty gun is a Gen 4 17. I will be trading it out for a Gen 5 17 because of the trigger mostly. There other things are added benefits.
