I bought a Colt Diamondback .22 6" newffor about $200. When I see them now at shows they are usually asking around $2,000.
Bought an SKB 200E for $600 at an auction, last one I saw was $1,200.
Several others have increased in value, but these are the best examples I have. Of course, to get the money I'd have to sell, and I don't want to.

Percentage wise, probably my first gun...Savage model 24 .22/410. I don't own any high end stuff. Always amused when I see current prices on 3 screw Single Six convertible 22's and 1100 LT 20s

I have a Ruger 44Mag Carbine with Manlicker stock in really good shape. Paid $365 for it in the early 90's. Not sure what it is actually worth but I am confident it is worth more.

I bought a used S&W 29-3 6.5" around 20 years ago. Mint condition. I paid $350 probably worth 2-3 times that now.

I also bought a S&W 1076 FBI trade in around 20 years ago for $375. Has to be worth at least twice that now.

I don't know about increasing in value, but I know a revolver (S&W M19) I bought 5 years ago cost me three times as much as the one very similar to it (S&W M66) that I bought 40 years ago, and both are the same general age. I don't own but one firearm I'd consider a collectible, and what I value it has as much to do with sentimental value as it does pure collector value (wartime manufacture Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless).
I bought 3 old SxS shotguns about 10 years ago, they weren't expensive when new ($175-$325), but paid a lot more than that for them, with all the wear and tear they've had since new.
What I buy are quality firearms, I can only imagine the value will appreciate over time.

I paid 85.00 for a M-N M44 Polish carbine years ago and got 200.00 for it from Cabela's. I had it only 2-3 years when I sold it. Not a bad ROI. No telling what my other M-Ns maybe worth.

I think I paid $900 for my full auto M-11/9 and suppressor. not including the stamps.
Just gotta rub it in, don’t ya?

I still regret not picking up a M-11/9 for $2,000 a few years ago. Now they’re probably somewhere around $6,000-8,000.

Of the guns I did actually buy, the P7M8 has probably appreciated the most. Just looking at HK Pro and the prices that these things are going for is staggering. It’s a moot point though, as the P7M8 is one of my grail guns, it’s not going anywhere.

It is hard to judge whether my guns have appreciated significantly or just kept up with inflation. Also, I have to admit I made some less than wise purchases over the years which haven't gone anywhere in terms of price. I try to factor that in when assessing the total value of all my guns.

If anyone has a sincere craving for a .37 caliber Hickenlooper, bolt action lever rifle, please let me know.

My Marlin 336 in 35 Rem set up in guide gun configuration. I have one of only 500 made in 2005. I paid
$500. They bring a fair amount more than that now. The one on the right next to my Marlin 94 in 44 mag.

My many milsurps.
Most would sell at six to ten times what I paid for them - if I were interested in selling... .

Same here with my Chinese SKS. I picked up a really nice Marlin Model 99M1 a few years ago for $60 AND it had the original rear sight with it. The sight alone is worth at least double what I paid for the whole thing.

Probably my Sako L691 300 Wby but I don't see many for sale so it's hard to know what it is worth. My wife paid $750 for mine when they retailed for $1,095. My BIL was an FFL at the time.

I have a commemorative Arkansas State Police S&W 586 6" bbl that I inherited from my father. I have seen similiar comemeratives listed with asking prices from $ 1,100 to 1,900. I have no interest in selling this or my Sako.

This past winter I paid $700 for a mint condition freedom arms m83 with a 10" bbl in 454 casull... I could likely get double.

6 years ago I got a pristine marlin 39 made in 1957 for $200 and a couple hundred rounds of 22lr- not sure the current value but wouldn't sell for under $1000 if I were interested in selling.

I got a winchester 250 lever action in 22lr for 100 rds of reloaded 45 acp. It's a redheaded stepchild of an unlovable rifle but I bet some covid panic dude would give a few hundred $$.

I got an absolutely stunning martini cadet rebarreled with a Remington matchmaster barrel and custom stock for $500 a few years back, $1500 wouldn't buy it from my safe- no idea what it's worth , it makes one ragged hole at 25 yards pretty much regardless of ammo.

I bought an old Mossberg 410 bolt action shotgun with a full choke for $50 years back, it's priceless because it's just so darn effective- but it's likely not worth much more than I paid.
