I thought the Winchester small primers were my problem not going bang .
Glock 17
A deep hit but no bang rechamber the round second hit the 9 mm fires.
I been on average 1 or two misfires out of 200 rounds.
Now it primer seating depth.
I read on the Dillon forum a loose shell plate.??
Anyway to set up the primer depth.
I been running the 550 now a little bit over a year .
This problem just started on a large batch I reloaded 2,000 rounds.
I am not new to reloding for years I ran a Lee turret ,4 stage never ever had the primers problems

If it fired on the second strike, then the most likely issue is seating. You do want the center bolt as tight as you can get it and still have the shell holder turn. You could also have other issues related to the rigidity of the press mounting. Do you use a Strong Mount ? Is your bench bolted to the wall ?

I like to reload on a Dillon standing up. I don't muscle the primer into place and much as simply lean into the op lever. That's really helped my consistency.

This.

Primers should be seated so they are flush w/ or slightly below the rim. If your shell plate is set correctly, it will turn smoothly when the primer is flush w/ the rim, but will hangup if it is seated high.

Sorry, but a flush primer is a primer that's not seated correctly.

You can adjust the primer seating depth on a Dillon 550. Take a look at the Dillon 550C manual at

https://dilloncdn.com/manuals/dillon-rl550c-manual-english.pdf

Go to page 5. Check the box in the lower left. The Primer Seating Cup needs to be set to the range of 1.215" - 1.220".

I had to readjust my large primer seating punch depth last year as it started to not seat primers deep enough. The Primer Punch Set Screw had come loose after more than 25 years of use.

I removed the primer slide assembly (14281) from my 550. Backed out its Primer Punch Set Screw (13996), took it to my vise, squeezed down the Primer Seating Cup height to 1.217" (measured
with calipers) and re-tightened the Primer Punch Set Screw. I re-installed the Primer Slide Assembly
and have had no problems since
