I use a 357. My friend uses a 22 semi auto and sticks it in their ear.

For you guys eradicating hogs. Make up some tannerite about a pound maybe pound n a half. Feed the hogs keep them coming to one area. Take out the feeder put up tannerite. Wait for 20+ hogs. Shoot it from at least 100 yards away. And boom a few less hogs.
The most polite comment I can make to that is.
That isn't a very highroad method.

A large trap I trigger with my cell phone when I receive photos from a cellular game camera. So far I have trapped as many as many as 26 at once and at that point even the lowly .22lr works.

Unless you have unlimited time, eradication through hunting isn't going to happen. I have had an entire year go by and I didn't kill as many hogs hunting as I have caught in a trap at once.

Hunting vs trapping. One is close quarters. The other can be just about any distance.
Hence the many different types of weapons. To each his own.
I hunt free range hogs. Marlin 336, 35 cal.

I was going off the eradication part but I've killed them with lots of stuff. I like the partitions using 7mm br or downloaded 7-08, a number of different bullets for 300 am, 30-06 and 308. Not a lot of kills with the 300 blk but I haven't lost any hunting with it. The 450bm and 458 socom seem about perfect for our place, where due to terrain and woods, shots over 300 yards are fairly uncommon.

In a trap, .22, 9mm and .223 all work fine.
