After posting this I noticed I had used the wrong target, but I had bought a 100 pack of these and they are what I had. My score would have been better with the correct target:cuss:

My score could have been a little better if I had blacked out the stainless steel sights. The sun was shining bright and the sights where hard to see after a few shots, maybe I could have avoided a couple of the 7's.

Again, shot at 10 yards, then adjusted POA for a better showing at 15 yds. This one kind of falls apart at 25, though.

After shooting the Beretta 81, I only had enough ammo left for one class with the Tomcat. And that’s probably ok, seeing how I did at 10 yards.

I had only brought one mag, and it only holds 7+1. So I fired the first 8, then popped the barrel up to single-load one, fired, and single-loaded again. I still managed to finish in 49.9 seconds.

you SURE you didn't use 150% scale when you printed those targets out? :D

dang nice shooting, and a sexycool gun.
Hey, I never thought of that. Hmmm...
Just kidding. :D

And thanks. It's an interesting gun. The recoil impluse is a little different than on your typical Browning-type handgun. I had bought it several years back and had the barrel threaded for a suppressor host. Since it's got a fixed barrel, it doesn't care how heavy of a can you hang on the end of it.

Here are my entries: 2 for each class.

Class 1; Score: 96 4x

I'll take it. Not a winning score but good enough for me. Don't shoot a lot of paper so this was a cool experience

Class 2; Score: 90 3x; Glock 23
class2Glock.jpg

Class 3; Score: 75 1x; 82 1x if you count that hole off the paper but in the 7 ring. Didn't though because there's another on the bottom right; Glock 23

Class 1; Score: 83 3x; Smith and Wesson 638, shooting 38 Special +p reloads DA

Class 2; Score: 87 2x; S&W 638 DA
Buckled down and focused a bit more with this one

Class 3; Score: 50 1x; S&W 638 DA 38+p
Nothing impressive but I'll get em on the next go-round o_O

Thanks @lionking for another great competition!

Last week was decent with temperatures in the 60s. Just had to get out between rain showers. His week is clear and sunny, but the warm went away. It snowed just enough to stick to the grass yesterday, and it topped out at 34°F this afternoon.

But it was sunny. So that was ok.

I was shooting target loads in the little J-frame. Some people claim standard pressure wadcutters make a pretty good defensive load. That’s not what I carry in the gun, but I find wadcutters shoot well in almost any revolver. Plus they make nice round holes that are easy to score. They just don’t always load very quickly, even with a speed loader so you have to watch the time. They just don’t like to fall in the chambers like RN ammo does. My slowest was at 25 yards, just a hair over 50 seconds.

And then I brought out the Model 92s. A Taurus, and a couple Berettas.

The Taurus was my first (and last?) panic buy, just after the ‘94 assault weapon ban was passed. Nobody knew what was going to happen, so they were all out buying “hi cap” anything. Because “it might be our last chance to own one of these”.

A few years later the guns were just as available. It wasn’t until 6 or 7 years in that the magazines for some guns finally started getting expensive. But the guns cost the same or a little less.

The Taurus shot ok today, but not as well as I would have liked.
