Lets See Your Non-Blued S&W Pistols

P5: I really like your S&W's compact size and the wooden grips.
Mine looks just like this 3rd. Gen. 5069 (I don't know how to upload photos). Yours must weigh a fair bit less. Mine was bought just for the club.

If somebody would Like the link to A Color-Coded Chart of the S&W 3rd. Gen handguns (9mm, .40, 10mm, .45 Auto), send me a 'PM'. You will probably see it when searching Google for that exact phrase, but the * chart will be very small and somewhat subtle.

You can expand it and it explains quite well the main variations, chamberings etc.

My 1086 is the only one I have a picture of right now.

A 1026 and old Norma ammo. Performance Center 4" and 5" 5906s.

My kinda rare 6690 transitional pistol. I believe its a 2nd gen 659 frame with a 3rd gen 6906 slide. It was sold thru S&W's distributor RSR group. Note the RSR 44xx serial number.

I don't get over here very often. I was gonna put this in the non-blued S&W revolver post just to see if anyone was paying attention. 9mm 1911 Pro. I bought it last year. I like it a lot.

Both were had for around $300 each.
You see the slight variances from early
square trigger guards, to later blued hammers/triggers and straight vs curved grips

My main embarassment, after having owned five "true Makarovs" and the present mix of "Euro police 9mm" handgun types, is that --quite frankly-- I didn't realize that US-made DA/SA handguns were of at least equal quality.

So much talk about '...Sig this, HK , Walther, CZ that...', but somehow never noticed 'top-quality S&W engineering' or such, except regarding the 1911 type. So many S&W revolvers seem to have helped obscure the reality.
