Rifle is a Savage 111 22-250 with a SS 1-8 26" Shilen barrel.
SW4350 is supposed to be slower than imr4350. So I started with data from that and worked up.
I've tried this powder before and the accuracy nodes seem to be small compared to similar powders.
Target was at 300 yards.
What charge would you choose and why?

As a note: first 3 shots had the primers backed out from too low pressure. I wouldn't count them as part of the ladder.

I think my charge should be 37.0. There is less than one inch of vertical on either side of the charge.
I really want to call it 37.9 but 37.4 is further away from 37.7 than it is from 37.1.

Hmm, I've never worked up using that method. I'd have to agree with your conclusion though. I'd probably run 10 ea and see what I thought at that point.

I started doing it this way about 10 years ago. Since then I usually have my charge weight and seating depth settled within 20 rounds.
The rest are just too confirm.
This powder, bullet and rifle combination didn't act like I'm used to.

The 37 grain load is going 3084. It grouped under half an inch at 100 yards with the ballistic calculator matching my drop at 400 yards. The only problem is RDF bullets are unobtainable right now.
I've got 60 rounds left before I move to the next bullet.

I'd say 37.8 to 38 is your nose very little vertical dispersion, both in one hole. My m111 243 liked Max charges with w760, imr4350, h4895, and imr 4895. Had to load at 2.7" though because of throat erosion.

The wind had completely died when I shot the last 3. It was gusting when I started. So the left to right isn't an apples to apples comparison.
I really wanted to try that one. But I only had 70 bullets.
I'm filling the target away on case I get more.
Next will be Nosler 77 CC. I'm still trying to figure it what I want to use for powder.
This SW4350 is out of stock ATM.
I have a pile of Superformance. I may try it.

there is a fast twist 22-250 article in the current handloader magazine. john haviland lists a bunch of loads for the heavy bullets.

luck,

murf
Thank you. I won't be running quite as blind as I was.
I really need to buy quick load. But my computer doesn't have a cd drive.
