I can't find any primers!! Is there any diy kits?

Take the tinfoil hat off, please. They are making all they can and they are going to the ammo makers for factory ammo; in case you have been under a rock for the last year, there's been a run on everything gun and ammo related, even reloading equipment, single shot rifles, and on and on.

I believe one of the reasons for the shortage is all available primers are going into factory ammo.
More profit to sell loaded ammo than primers.
So until the ammo shortage clears up I don't see primer supply getting better.

That could be, but I think it's more that the ammo makers are going full out right now and they own the primer companies. I don't think the primer makers have a choice but to fulfill the demand from their own, or sister, ammo companies first.

As soon as I can get to my work room (Miss Kitty's remodeling the basement, so I don't want to trudge the all the sheet rock mess but once a day), I'm going to count up my rifle primers and put them up for trade for pistol ones. Of course that'll put a dent in the shortage....... not. But it'll help me.
 
I posted a regular news article a week or so back about small town/small budget law enforcement appealing to ammo makers and distributors for priority shipments. According to the LEO's interviewed, the Vista responded they didn't get a choice since its illegal for them to ship factory-direct to an end user, even if they are "government agencies." Factories ship to distributors who ship to licensed purchasers, who sell to the general public. That's the supply chain. A lack of trucking is limiting distribution and before that, the lack of warehouse employees able and willing to work because of lock-downs and fear of the SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 made getting pallets on trains and trucks nearly impossible. Panics create shortages which create more panic.

First rule of engineering: Remain calm.
 
I found aprox 100,000 primers today at BassPro in central Texas. They were mostly all loaded into Herters and Winchester ammo though. I must have walked in 10 minutes after a real big shipment because that’s the most ammo I’ve seen in over a year. No primers for reloading though.
 
I know there's a problem in with COVID. And the supply chain is behind. Time will tell.
 
They're dropping almost everyday on most sites. They just sell out in minutes because of people using bots, Distill and Discord get notified seconds after its posted on the website. I get so many in stock primer notifications every day via Discord, I turned the notifications off because you're competing with thousands of other people to get a sleeve of primers.
 
I agree with the Gunbroker idea. Can seemingly get whatever you want if your willing to pay. I confess I did buy 500 CCI 450 magnum small rifle primers for $150.00. Believe it or not that was one of the best deals out there by $50 or so.

My last two Powder Valley orders in January. Unless you're finding them locally, Distill or Discord probably about the only way to get primers now. Discord is likely over 10k users now, good luck with that. This is two orders for 11,000 primers, you can still get primers from regular online retailers. PV was nice enough to sub CCI SPP instead of the Unis Ginex that I ordered, I was completely okay with that.

Looks like pv goes on dung list of NTBF with their primer prices.No different than gb if you ask me.
