I despise them. First of all, they make the gun more like a toy, and not a real gun, particularly the neon pink and green ones. Secondly, what is the purpose other than fashion statement? Guns aren’t fashion statements. Same goes for the Punisher logo on striker plates or the other nonsense. It makes the owner seem like a tactical operator wanna-be. Remember that drunk guy shot in the hallway who didn’t have a gun? The cop had “You’re Fu***d” inscribed on the bolt of his AR so that when the bolt cover was open it could be read. The prosecutor used that against him to show frame of mind or something.

I get the ones used for hunting to help camouflage the hunter, or the FDE guns the military is using for the same purpose, but why does the guy walking around with a pistol need a FDE gun? It’s so stupid.

Either blued, stainless, or black. I don’t even like two tone. If a gun only comes in FDE, I won’t be owning it. To each his own, but I do not like this new trend at all.

So, I'm guessing that's a no...?

LOL.

I don't seek out colored guns, but I have certainly considered buying colored guns when on sale at a discount over traditional guns.

Personally I like the idea of choosing the appearance of personal possesions, whether trucks, BBQ grills, boats, off road vehicles, motorcycles, or guns.

I was going to add power tools to that list, but branding dictates a manufacturer's color scheme. Red, yellow, green, blue, etc. Why can't my power tools just be black?

In the history of firearms they have all traditionally been 2 toned. The wood grips or stocks of long guns has provided a contrast to the blue steel of the rest of the gun. Having a contrasting color frame and slide provides a similar, yet modern look.

I don't really like the bright colors, but to each their own. A subdued color is fine with me.

If carrying IWB with a shirt tail untucked an FDE colored grip is going to blend in with most guys skin tones if the gun is exposed somehow helping to keep it from being seen.

Most of my pistols are all black other than the one SS 1911. But I do have a few with colored frames.

I knew someone was gonna bring up a BBQ gun. I kind of get those, although they’re still not for me. But a FDE gun would never qualify as a BBQ gun. And the gun companies must know it because they usually offer the models in regular black and FDE. The Beretta M9A3 soon was available in black. The Glock 43X was made into the black Glock 45.

In my experience, they’re liked by younger shooters. I’m 50 now and didn’t like them when I was 35 either.

i highly doubt blending in with their skin tone was ever a consideration for anybody buying a tan gun.

Not BBQ guns, BBQ grills. Some people like grills in the different color options they can be had in these days. I almost bought a red Weber last fall, but they were out of stock. So I ended up with the same ol' black and stainless.

And if it matters, I'm 56. I don't like all colors of guns, but the browns, tans, blues*, and grays look good to me.

*blue the color. Of course, I like blued metal finish, too.

Hey, I'm 70 and depending on the color combo I like or dislike the look. Pretty much prefer a brushed nickel/black combo over others OD green is the only no-go for me.

For a carry gun, I prefer black, I think it's least likely to be seen under a shirt.

I also worry a brightly colored, neon, etc. gun will not be taken seriously. I'd prefer to stop an action with a gun having a menacing effect rather than having to shoot because someone didn't think it was real.

Personally, I believe a firearm should represent who owns them. If you like two tone, show it off. Be proud of it. What's wrong with personalization? Engraving is absolutely useless, but man does it look nice. Carve your stock, buy nice, personalized wooden grips. Get a red slide if you want. Personalize it. If you like it the way it is, leave it then. Just let your things represent you. It's like your clothing, it represents you.

My preference is for black or parkerized finishes. Stainless is ok, just not for me.

I'm a cheapskate. I get whatever color is cheapest.

If bits and pieces of competition gear or parts for my competition guns are the same price in black or something else, I usually go for a bright electric blue - even though the rumor is that red parts are faster.

I prefer colors but stainless will work, Not a huge fan of all black... In fact.... I don't own any all black guns

I like my revolvers blued or stainless and I like wood or black grips. Autoloaders? Sick of black. Every darn gun out there seems to be black.
I had a Glock 19X. I liked the color. So did my son-in-law. I gave it to him as a gift. Now I have all black autoloaders again.
I am thinking about having my other Glock’s frames Cerakoted. I like the bronze but now you can’t swing a dead cat and not hit a bronze gun it seems. I kind of like that Jesse James Civil Defense Blue. That would look pretty cool with a black slide.

Heck I will probably just leave em black. Save my money for primers and such.
