Well I wanted to break off a few hundred bucks to buy a case and get the free shipping but I'm just not in the spending mood right now so I figured I'd just pass the info along, last time I checked (abt and hour ago) there was 99+ boxes for sale. From what I can say, $5.99/box for Federal Flite Control LE 00 buckshot is pretty damn good price, especially nowadays.

I haven't ever shot or patterned it, I never see it in stores, but after seeing alot of videos and reviews of this ammo, it's like the HST of buckshot/slugs. Extremely high quality and throws a nice tight pattern consistently. I hope this is helpful to someone, I know I'd love to score a case of it, next time around I will.

Anyways, here's the link.....

I picked up some back when the price was a bit lower but have yet to 'test drive' it. Thankfully I don't have much need for buckshot, I mostly shoot target loads and sometimes slugs. Have been tempted to buy another hundred or so of cheap/conventional buckshot to 'play' with.

Fed Flyght Control Low Recoil 00 is my preferred round. Works like a champ in my modified Mossberg 590…..A dated picture, I think at 15 yards….

A $1.20 a round is a good deal today….

I stocked up on it some time back when it was priced so low it seemed kind of like a BOGO deal!

Haven't had a chance to try them out yet but from everything I have read says they're good to go. And at $1.20 a round that's a really nice buy for the money!

Here's some of mine, along with a few other five round boxes... Can't say I have any use for reduced recoil defensive rounds... A few years back I ran into some of the Flite Control ammo and picked up a few boxes to meet my needs. Happy to say they've not been needed at all - yet.

Great stuff for slightly longer distances. Not sure it's worth it for inside home defense distances, standard 00 buck is fine. Once you get to 20-40 yards or so, the Flite Control comes into it's own. I keep standard #1 buck in my shottie for HD. 00 Flite Control and slugs, (3 each) on my side saddle.

I got 4 cases of the standard load back before things went insane. Used some to pattern and set the ghost rings to POI/POA at 50yds. Great stuff.

RABID WOMBAT. I have a 590 as well. I back bored the chamber/bore transition (can't remember what it's called) and my shot spread tightened up considerably on everything. I'm holding a steady 2" spread at 15yds with the flyte control. I'll dig up some pictures of the pattern board.

I was using the full power loads with the heavy barrel, but I don't think it would make that much difference.

If you decide you want that done to your 590 and can't find a smith to do it, it's not difficult to do. Let me know, I'll send you the reamer I used, it's only cut 1 barrel so it's in good shape.

No charge, just pass it along when you're finished with it. Should be good for quite a few barrels with proper care.

It will work on any 12 gauge shotgun barrel I assume. Also, I would only do it on modern barrels made of good steel. I did not ream my mossberg 500 barrel, it seemed to thin.

This does remove metal. I wouldn't use it on a thin barrel.

Wow that's a mighty hefty price hike! The last time I bought the Flite Control shot shells it was like an add-on to an ammo order I was placing. It was such a great deal at the time I decided might as well stock up on it! O2d5wMv.jpg

Wow that's only $184/250. Well, times have changed, it ain't the best price that's for sure but $1.20/rd isn't terrible, especially since I tend not to shoot a ton of buckshot anyways, basically buy whatever is cheap and with these I would just pattern them, shoot a few boxes and set aside the rest of the case.....

Indeed, I bought ten boxes of 16 ga #1 Federal buckshot and five boxes of Winchester #1 buck years ago… and I still have 8 boxes of Federal and four of the Winchester loads still on the way back section of the ammo shelves.

(There is also a bunch of 12 ga 00 and 1oz slugs back there, too.)

Stay safe.
