Proof positive that my new to me toy and it's cousin exist. The new toy wears a set of Ruger rosewood grips I had because the walnut ones that came on it had the threaded estuchion tightened until it had broken the wood out of that back of the grip. I switched out the rubber grips on the new model back to a set of mesquite grips I made for it right after I bought it. The mesquite came from a small tree in my pasture that I got rid of,. It has none of the borer holes that are sometimes found but does have the inevitable crack. The trees are little more than bushes and I think our high spring winds cause the cracks.
Sorry for the less than great picture. My shaky pills aren't doing a great job today and my camera's IS didn't quite make up the difference.
