Is 0835 I'm just getting on the St Mary's Falls Trail. I'm going to try to make it to the top of Mount Rosa and I will post a gun picture later.

Here's the knife I'm carrying just so I'm in compliance.

And this is where I'm at

I think I'm going to get a Tilley hat. I would wear a cowboy hat or fedora everyday if it weren't for the high backrests in the vehicles and tractors. The canoe paddler guy I watch on YouTube (Lost Lakes) wears a tilley just like yours.
....and I'm not a glock guy......is yours a 26?
36?

I got my Tilley hat at the Goodwill for six bucks. It was the best 6 bucks I ever spent.

The Glock is a 26 and more pictures will be following

I told Mrs WisBorn that I need to go to Goodwill and look for a hat tomorrow :)
I like Stormy Kromer hats for winter and wear a Adidas running cap most of the time hiking.
I think Tilley's are cool. I'm just to cheap to spend a $100 on a hat. Heck I can buy a lot of ammo for a hundred bucks :D

I'm not saying that I wouldn't pay a hundred bucks for a Tilley hat. I will say that there's no way in hell my wife would ever let me.

Like I said, mine came from the Goodwill. I don't know how old it is but it has zero wear.

They're guaranteed forever. They're guaranteed against loss for the first two years but I don't think I'm under that warranty because I bought mine used.

It's packable, it's breathable, it floats, I won't say it's waterproof because if you throw it in the washing machine it will get wet but how many hats like that do you know that will survive the washing machine?

Just to the right of the Rock that's an icicle. do you see how clear that water is? It clearly froze quickly.

I have two Tilley's. One that I keep in the vehicle and use on the odd occasion, maybe for shooting or impromptu wanderings. The other is for hiking and yard work. Both have been props for gun pics on this thread. Neither were only 6 Bucks! Good job on that one @Night Rider

I was walking through the store and I saw that hat and I grabbed it. All I knew about Tilley's hats at that point is that they were good hats and then I did my research

I chose to carry my long time carry gun a S&W CS45, 6+1 45ACP, SA/DA 3rd gen auto. I took a trip to BJs (discount big box store) this morning and when I pulled in my driveway the neighborhood Tom was strutting in our yard for a girlfriend. I said in another post hunting pressure is low here these days so they move slow when humans show up. We moved here in 97 and I've taken a couple of turkeys and a few deer over the first 8-10 years then I guess I just stopped hunting. Not sure I will ever start again but you never know. One other guy on our road occasionally takes a deer but we are the only two who have hunted over the years in the local area that I'm aware of. Still have my walk to do today and it looks like I need to get the yard cleanup done and grass cut!.
Get out, enjoy the great outdoors, and be wary of those Toms looking for a mate!
Edit-just got back from my walk around. Nice weather, sunny and had to take off the sweatshirt. Rock walls, piles and foundations are common up here. I sure would like to take a trip back in time and talk to the people who built them and see what their lives were like. Same carry piece as this morning.

Got in a 2 miler this afternoon, 50s, sunny and breezy. I carried my Dan Wesson Vigil in a Galco Combat Master holster. If I'm going to walk a bit I prefer a pancake to an IWB. I usually take my cheap/old Simmons rangefinder to practice estimating ranges which is just a skill I want to improve. Its a 4x and is good to about 350 yards if you have a hard target. We have everything from ledge to small rocks here and the picture of the rock with my glove on it my wife and I call "Dinosaurs eggs". Always have to have some emergency snacks.
Get outside and enjoy the outdoors even if it is just the porch.

Spending a couple of days in Wisconsin Dells. The downtown area is kind of quiet. In a couple of months the main street will be bumper to bumper.

This Sasquatch was the second most dangerous thing I came in contact with today. The first was a timeshare sales person:rofl: 20230426_132741.jpg

My carry choice. My Kimber R7.

Just don't shoot the golfers

You should try the carbon steel offerings from Mora - much better heat treat (about 58-60 HRC), although very limited offerings as models and blade lengths. It's a real shame that stainless Moras from 12C27 are so soft, as they are great utility knives and the steel is much more capable than that - Brusletto, for example, shows what a properly heat treated 12C27 scandi knife is, but their prices are steeper than Mora...

You won't regret it.
I bought my first Mora last fall and processed my deer with it.
The three knives have 3 1/2" blades. I think they will be handy.
Mrs WisBorn had a $25 Amazon gift card and said that we need to use it before we forget we have it. I said done:D
Armored Farmer found a good use for it:cool:
