I'm really excited. I finally made a decision on a safe and chose the Liberty Fatboy series with a claimed 110 min fire protection and a level 5 security rating. The local dealer recently installed it. The measurements are 60.5"×42"×27.5". Regardless of the factory claims i like the features and the size for my needs. I just got done with the initial organizing and placement of my firearms and valuables. I finally have a safe!

...and the ATF can always help you into it if you lock yourself out.
Actually, Liberty immediately changed their policy after that fiasco. One is able to opt out of Liberty retaining their 'backdoor' code access, if you choose. I'm glad I chose a USA made safe, although some foreign made options were quite attractive.

Yes, I'm fortunate to have a direct entrance to my basement shop. Delivery and installation was easy. I have more room in the safe than I expected. So far i am really pleased.

For many folks that's an accurate comment. For me it is probably not. I'm 72 y.o. and have slowed my acquisitions considerably. I have given away some to grandsons already. I think (knock on wood) this safe has adequate capacity for me. Famous last words.For now

I have a Lincoln 35 from 2016 and I LOVE my Liberty safe. Never had any problems that caused issues. I had one situation with the lock but I could always get in it, just made funny beeps. Called Liberty and a new one was immediate sent and a guy installed it at no cost.
Funny thing, I asked the guy how they get into safes that the owner screwed up the combo on. He told me about the universal back door. I asked him if I could change it and he said he would help me do it. So I ended up changing mine already.
Still, if Big Brother wants in, I’d probably prefer they use the door rather than cut open a wall!

Very nice setup, plenty of room. My setup is similar, except mine is almost 30 years old and has a rotary dial, which I prefer. I don't even know if they make them anymore with the rotary dial, all the ones I've seen recently have the digital.

I have a safe that size a Bighorn (Rhino) I got used for a good deal. It was for the overflow from my main one, a Fort Knox that is taller. Be aware that in a real fire none of them are truly safe. For protection of valuables from theft they suffice.

I would have been happy to have purchased a quality, used safe, but i did not know of any out there locally.
I spent some time researching gun safes. I hear you about the real world expectations regarding safes. Even so i feel so much better now that I'm not using a cheesy metal cabinet, a small general purpose safe and having firearms laying around my shop because i did not a proper place to store them.
The lighting strips were a nice feature that the dealer added.
Good point about humidity management. I did not get a Golden Rod, or Liberty's branded version because one is not necessary where the safe is located. The basement room is an HVAC control environment and I have been monitoring my temps and humidity in that room for sometime. If for any reason i need one i can buy one and use the second electrical outlet inside the safe.

Something to consider with ‘paper’ storage…. Use a Pelican file box in the safe, for portability

Good point! I bought a light weight lock box at a gun show for my safe. Its a good way to keep papers organized. Deeds, Titles, ect are all in one place. It could probably be opened with a heavy knife blade or screwdriver but security was not its main purpose.

I bought the following - not for security - but for water protection and ‘grab and go’. I keep important papers and identification in it. It nominally resides in the steel security container… but if weather or something else chases me out… grab and go….

I inherited a Liberty safe and was able to buy a pistol organizer from Liberty to fit my safe and it was really easy to install. I'm very happy with it and the company. I even replaced the spinner lock with a digital fingerprint one and so far works great.
