Slide Milling. Who is good and who isnt?

No clue as it's a fer piece to a gunsmith. Any competent machinest should be able to do it but I believe there is is something about having an FFL to do so legally. Not sure on that as I don't keep up closely. I do know that our town's machinest, now passed on, had a FFL so he could do work on guns.

I had a FN slide milled by Parker Mountain Milling a couple of years ago - excellent work.

Another approach might be to email Keith at Dan Wesson [email protected] or contact him on the DW sub-forum on the 1911 Forum. He probably can provide some good advice on where to go for that work on a DWX. Keith's member page is at https://www.1911forum.com/members/keith-dw.19417/

Milling a slide for an optic on an irreplaceable slide isn't something I want to leave in the hands of the unexperienced.

If you go to their website, under gunsmith services go to optic milling.
Under model they have DWX listed.

Just had Wager Machine Works (Crossville, TN) do a G48 for me-six days door-to-door. Immaculate machine work, excellent price.
