There has been so much talk and love on THR for the 44 Special that I had to find out what it is all about. It took a while and some horse trading (and a chunk of change on my part) but I finally scored a very special SPECIAL, a 4" S&W model 24-3.
This gun looks to be about 99.5% condition. The blue is nearly perfect; it shows no holster wear around the muzzle or cylinder, no nicks or scratches on the gun itself. Only a turn line and it is not that noticeable. It came with the original box, 100 rds of factory ammo and 400 rds of reloads. The only downside is the Pachmayr grips. I may look for some original S&W stocks in the future. This particular model was made in 1983. Out of approximately 7500 that were produced in 1983-84, only about 2500 were of the 4" model. So i think that does make this kinda special. I just got it home last night so I haven't got out to shoot it yet but hopefully this week.
