Lyman primer flip tray help.

I had an issue with one several years ago that the lid did fit pretty tight on. I just took a half round file and made a small indention on one edge of the lid to get my finger nail under and problem solved. It is easier to hold the bottom and raise the lid.

I also have the issue of the middle area flexing and bouncing some primers up when loading my tubes. I usually just put a finger in the middle and hold it down to avoid that issue. I have several different ones and it isn't an issue with them all, but it only takes it flexing once to flip half a dozen over and get you out of your rhythm.

I hat the bounce problem once. I put… I don’t remember if it was a dime or a paper clip or some tightly folded paper under the middle of it. Seeded to help. The lid is more snug but not bad imho on mine. Keeps them from spilling…

@CoalCrackerAl are you trying to remove the tray with the shell holder on? It's best to have the shell holder off as the lip on the lid will catch on it. You should be able to just hold it and push up with your thumb and it'll go up easily. If it's giving you too much issue, then something might be off. Let me know.

I dump primers in the tray and load the shiny side up primers. I then cover, flip, open and load the rest of the shiny side up primers.
Contact Lyman over sticky lid, lightly sand around contact surfaces, place a little graphite or talc around contact surfaces, or follow other suggestions.
I actually watched someone shaking the flipper tray for several minutes trying to get all primers shiny side down so they could cover and flip.
