Alchemy Custom Weaponry (thoughts)

I’ll likely never pony up the money for an ACW proper but I know Rob is a very accomplished pistolsmith and the work he did on my 1911s was transformative. Whether the company is continuing to function at that level is something to consider but I’d bet he left a solid team in place.

I also like Les Baer. I don’t like them as much as ACW or RRA, but from an accuracy standpoint, nothing is better.

In fact, the RRA Limited Match is the only factory 1911 that I know of that matches Baer’s 1.5” group at 50 yard accuracy guarantee.

I’m going to take a nick nack gun break and save my Uber Money for something NICE

ACW was on my radar but I never ordered before Rob left. Is the quality still the same as I believe Cabot is involved now. Probably so but I will wait until Rob gets his line going and compare. I love my RR ARs and I was not aware that they were back into the 1911 game because I have not looked.

When did Rob leave, and where did he go?

Personally I've wanted a Baer since I read about them in American Handguner. One day I will own a Baer and a Schauland Performance 1911. Or I'll have to learn how to build them cause man the Greats are sadly either retiring or passing away and it seems everyone is going glock or glockish nowadays.
