I got this box in a big box of brass and other stuff. They are 7 1/2 shot and go in a 357 mag brass with 9.0 grs of bullseye and are to be shot in a t/c contender pistol only. They are compared to a 21/2 .410 shot gun shell.
they contain 1/2 oz of shot and the price on the box is $5.95. I don’t want to load or shoot them. Just wondering if they would work

Not new in decades (think the 44 version came out early '70s). TC had special choked "hot shot" barrels. The chokes were designed to stop the spin, the rifling imparted.

In use they were a lot less versatile that one would think and they went the way of the dodo.

Those are pretty darn rare today. That sharp-veined Hot Shot choke would stop the rotation of the capsule as @jmorris posted, as well as cut open the plastic capsule to allow the shot to disperse. I can recall seeing some of those for sale ages ago, but they weren’t produced for all that long.

Stay safe.

It was a work around when the 45/410 was banned as a sbs . Due th copycats like Walter Craig importing sawed off 410 shotguns from Brazil with shallow rifling scratched in the barrels to take some sales from TC and their Contender 45/410.
Many folks bought the 44 Hotshot barrel and promptly had it rechambered to 410. I have no idea how 44 mags worked after that.
I have a 44 hotshot barrel but it is missing the choke. The fee I've seen were priced at platinum level.

Thanks for the info. I didn’t know there was a special barrel for them. I knew they wouldn’t work in my 357 barrel.
