Was at Scheel‘s today with my wife. She happens across the Sig Sauer display and see’s this 365 in .380 and decides she wants it. Ok great, not a bad choice in a self defense gun but the problem is that it is this gimmicky abomination called the Rose that was apparently endorsed by Miculek‘s daughter to make her and Sig a bunch of money tugging on the emotions of women shooters and annoying their husbands which it did to me in spades.
The sales man tries including me on his pitch to sell the gun when I replied to him to keep talking to her (my wife) because the only purpose that gimmicky crap serves is to rob us of another $250 of hard earned cash over the standard 365. My wife isn’t thrilled with how annoyed I am by the entire purchase. Just one more time….GIMMICKY CRAP!!!!! Ah, that does feel a bit better.
 
You do get more than just the name with that pistol . I can see its appeal to women . It does come with a pistol safe , training videos , optic cut slide , but you might be upset that it has the rose colored controls and rose engraved frame module and be to embarrassed to sneak her pistol when you go to the range . I don’t blame you there .
 
Sig has been dolling up variants of their wares for at least a decade and a half. About 9000 versions of the P238 and 938 so everyone can have the color and trim they want. Probably offering more options than Honda does now.

I wouldn't worry about how other people may look at you shooting your wife's gun. My battery was dead in my electronic muffs at a competition one time. My only other option was the pink ones I bought for my wife. Had a good day and been wearing them ever since.
 
This stuff never bothers me I look at it this way if it brings more women into the shooting sports world that is a great thing. More women shooting guns bodes well for all of us. I understand it is a marketing strategy all companies use it but if this is what it takes to get more women into shooting so be it and let’s get behind that and embrace products that other people like.

Edited Note : As my father always told me if Mama isn’t Happy nobody’s Happy!!!!!!! ….

How many of us go "Oooooh" for Realtree/camo stuff for our trucks, clothing and guns? And for "Tactical" gear, black is the color of choice to make us shoot better and disappear into the night. ;)

Having family member who suffered from breast cancer, I would not hesitate to don pink AR magazines/shooting accessories and range bag patches to openly show my support.

My daughter was big into Hello Kitty when she was young (I learned it was children's movement of strength and resilience from post-war Japan from Hello Kitty "festival" my daughter took me to in Little Tokyo, LA) and now 25, I would not hesitate to buy her pink Hello Kitty Glocks/ARs which she is deadly with (BTW, she grew up sorting brass for me when she was 6 and was disassembling/cleaning/reassembling guns soon after that with her brother and her motto is, "If I can see it, I can hit it").

You all are correct in that it could be worse. I am blessed that she is a firearm enthusiast and enjoys shooting with me which took me a minute to remember. I just ordered some dies to reload for .380 as a backup like I do for 9mm when the supply chain dries up after the next latest and greatest panic and picked up a couple of extra magazines for her.
 
Here at work two have wives with pink pistols. Both got used once and done.
No practice needed with pink.
 
I realized that my pink earmuffs work better than my black or yellow ones, so I wear them. NBD.

I always glance at used handguns that are pink or lavender because so many men are too insecure to buy them. Ended up buying two of them because the price was so low. They go bang just fine. :)

I traded away my pink CZ75 polymer compact clone towards something else, but that was another good shooter that I got for very cheap.

Pink can be the poor man's friend. :)
 
Many here will drop $2k on a finely made 1911 and for them, it's money well spent. I have learned over many years that there is nothing to gain and much to lose by disparaging another person's taste in firearms. SIG is only doing what companies do to survive, and they are signaling that this demographic is important to them. As others have pointed out, happy wife makes for happier life.

I've done the same thing. My wife didn't want the purple G2 I tried to give her a couple Valentine's Days ago, but she sure jumped on the rainbow titanium p238
