Just venting a little bit and man I am not a fan of Lena Miculeck right now lol…ugh

Was at Scheel‘s today with my wife. She happens across the Sig Sauer display and see’s this 365 in .380 and decides she wants it. Ok great, not a bad choice in a self defense gun but the problem is that it is this gimmicky abomination called the Rose that was apparently endorsed by Miculek‘s daughter to make her and Sig a bunch of money tugging on the emotions of women shooters and annoying their husbands which it did to me in spades.
The sales man tries including me on his pitch to sell the gun when I replied to him to keep talking to her (my wife) because the only purpose that gimmicky crap serves is to rob us of another $250 of hard earned cash over the standard 365. My wife isn’t thrilled with how annoyed I am by the entire purchase. Just one more time….GIMMICKY CRAP!!!!! Ah, that does feel a bit better.
SIG's Rose program is no different than S&W's Lady Smith program.

The goal of every company is to make money.

My wife has 14 firearms in my safe.
A robin egg blue Colt, Several pink and purple pistols and ARs. It makes her happy and she continues to go to the range with me.
She has turned into a good enough shot with her "gimmicky" firearms I feel confident if I am not around she is capable of defending herself.

PS: she doesn't give me crap about my 10mm and guitar collections!!

Edit; She has 15 in my safe!! Lol

The Sig P365-380 is a very awesome firearm to shoot, especially for someone who is not a gun person and who doesn't shoot thousands of rounds a year. For women, I think the thumb safety on the Rose model has appeal, especially if they are going to carry off body in a bag. (It still requires a good holster in that application.) If my wife wanted the Rose version, I would immediately buy it for her. If money was an issue, I would sell something to make up the difference.

Post 3,
The gun and accessories look great to me, but I've no interest in it otherwise.
I understand saving the $250 on a regular/plain P365 and I'd probably feel better with the savings if it was for me.
My wife has no interest in guns but does find other things & places to spend her money.
I actually asked if she wanted to go to Scheel's a few days ago and was totally uninterested in the idea.

Whatever. Happy wife equals a happy life----in most instances but not all. Companies are out for ever buck they can acquire be it fancy or plain products. I am by Sig like I am by Apple. Always felt you paid more for what you received than necessary but it seems there are plenty of customers willing to pay.

My wife is perfectly happy with unadorned fire arms. However she is a dedicated quilter and prefers expensive sewing machines. At least they last for many years. Material is somewhat different. She just dropped $30 a month for 13 months to make a pre cut Halloween themed quilt and that's only the top. It will cost twice as much when finished. I asked her why not make her own and the reply was she couldn't get the material except in that kit. She doesn't growl at me for the money I spend on firearms and related stuff and I do the same with her quilting. I can put together a pretty nice rifle and she is a true artist with her sewing machine.

@Targa is blessed he has a wife who wants guns and likely wants to shoot them too. 👍

Happy wife indeed leads to happy life. 😍

How many of us go "Oooooh" for Realtree/camo stuff for our trucks, clothing and guns? And for "Tactical" gear, black is the color of choice to make us shoot better and disappear into the night. ;)

FYI, not only does pink appeal to female shooters, it also denotes support for breast cancer awareness - https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/category.cfm/sportsman/guns-of-color-pistols-pink

Having family member who suffered from breast cancer, I would not hesitate to don pink AR magazines/shooting accessories and range bag patches to openly show my support.

My daughter was big into Hello Kitty when she was young (I learned it was children's movement of strength and resilience from post-war Japan from Hello Kitty "festival" my daughter took me to in Little Tokyo, LA) and now 25, I would not hesitate to buy her pink Hello Kitty Glocks/ARs which she is deadly with (BTW, she grew up sorting brass for me when she was 6 and was disassembling/cleaning/reassembling guns soon after that with her brother and her motto is, "If I can see it, I can hit it").
Heck, I want a Hello Kitty AR to go with my Hello Kitty range bag.....

Targa, be glad your wife likes to go with you shooting. Mine repeated her stand on it on Sunday:
"Well, I'll go with you if you ask me, but you know it's really not my idea of fun...."
(Me): "We'll have to go to the range when we get a nice weekend. I'll bring your AR."
"Yeah, that was kinda fun...."

Sig has been dolling up variants of their wares for at least a decade and a half. About 9000 versions of the P238 and 938 so everyone can have the color and trim they want. Probably offering more options than Honda does now.

I wouldn't worry about how other people may look at you shooting your wife's gun. My battery was dead in my electronic muffs at a competition one time. My only other option was the pink ones I bought for my wife. Had a good day and been wearing them ever since.
I sport these over my pink in-ear plugs.

I’ve gotten a sideways glance or two, but as long as my ears are OK I don’t sweat it.

@Targa, its nice to read that your wife shares your shooting passions.

My wife has tried shooting a time or two, but really has zero interest in it. She lets me indulge in my hobby, so ours is a peaceful coexistence.

Stay safe.

One of the attractions is the slender grip, but that can also be a challenge to accuracy. If you know someone who can help her with good grip technique, a) she is more likely to accept instruction from a pro from Dover (a MASH reference) than from you, and b) she will learn that a well controlled gun won't jump around as much and will put shots where she wants them.

This is no reflection on either of you, but is based on what I have learned after about 50 years of matrimonial and 40 years of youth instruction experience.

Kinda reminds me of the gold trim Honda and Mazda put on their cars in the mid 80’s. Wasn’t my cup of tea but under the trim they were solid, reliable cars, much like your wife’s SIG is a solid and reliable firearm.

I’m drawn to the Kimber Bel Aire. Probably because it reminds me of one of my favorite color schemes on that Chevy model. There’s no accounting for taste.

I have the Kimber micro 9 Bel Air, and I definitely have an opinion about it.
It's like holding a wet bar of soap.
I don't like the slide serrations, they are slick and hard to get a grip on. Not impossible, just not as good as they should be.
I have the STG version, and it's twice the gun the Bel Air is, but the Bel Air is a good looking gun, and It shoots fine, just hard for my big old hands to hang onto.

I looked at the Rose Sig a few weeks back.
Lena herself was at the local gun place answering questions and promoting her gun.
I visited with her for about 20 minutes and came pretty close to buying one, but decided against spending the money

Is it really any different from nicely figured walnut or maple, beautiful bluing, color case hardening, or engraving on a fine sporting gun though? A friend has an old Drilling with the goddess Diana engraved on the receiver. I don’t think rose gold would be too out of place on a nice flintlock.

I don't have any problem with the Rose deal, I DO have a big problem with .380 tho. The .380 is more expensive than 9mmx19 ,and MUCH MUCH harder to get and will always be. The lighter 9mm loads ar almost the equal of recoil to a .380. and most .380s are not fully locked breech so kick as hard or have lightened slides and springs which make them snappier. .380 is a poor choice in any handgun purchase IMHO unless you find some used one that blows up your skirt for some odd reason . The .30 carry makes more sense until it turns up unobtainium for ammo in the future, the 9x19 never will. If a person can't handle the 9x19 recoil , get a .38 special revolver and shoot wad cutters or the 130 grain wimpy military load that's every place
