I have DSA's railed top cover on my SA-58. I've never mounted anything on it (yet), but it feels very solid. I'm happy with it so far, but then again, I haven't really used it for its intended purpose. Most consider it to be the best FAL mount on the market.
I have heard good things about the DSA mount, but then I have read that the best scope mounts for the FAL completely replace the receiver's top cover, but I am unsure if DSA's mount does that.
I handled a couple others at gun shows before buying the DSA. The DSA is better than the cheap ones I looked at.
But, the reason I bought the DSA is because the general population over at FALfiles said it was the best at the time. I think some others were/are destined to come out, and I'm not sure how they compare. You might just want to go over to FALfiles, and start a pole to see what the current favorite is, and see if it has switched from DSA to something else. If it has, I haven't heard about it.
I've heard good things about the B&T HK-91 low mount. I've been fighting the urge to buy one as a matter of fact. They are listed on DSA's website for $150.
I had a DSA SA58 that regardless of what I did, I could not get it to shoot very well with a scope, DSA mount or whatever. Best was about 4 MOA, and that was on a good day. The rifle was capable of better than that with open sights. I sold it after about a year.
On the other hand, my HK91 (true H&K) with an ARMS claw mount repeatedly shoots 2-MOA and below, 10-shot groups, with Portuguese or Aussie surplus, from its bipod. Not much better with reloads or more expensive ammo, though.
Another thing I really like about the HK is that even though I install and remove the scope & mount each time I take it to the range*, it has NEVER changed zero. I changed scopes once, and that was only the second time I had to zero it. (*takes too much room in the gun safe with the scope on.)
I have other, more accurate .308 rifles (DPMS Panther .308, Rem-PSS .308) but the HK91 is superb for being a battle-rifle.
