I was looking around at the different BUIS options for AR type rifles and came across this. It looks like a nice piece of equipment. How does it compare to regular BUIS with an EOTech?

I am not 100% sure about this but I am pretty sure its true.

When using the Dominater you will get a lower third sight picture through the irons compared to the dot. Your cheek weld will be slightly higher also.

When mounted on a flat top the BUIS and the EOTech will "co-witness". The center of The EOTech reticle will line up perfect with the irons.

This is my RRA with the EOTech mounted on the top of the reciever with a GG&G BUIS. This is a direct co-witness.

The rail on the Dominator raises the Eotech up off the receiver. This allows you to put the reticule higher over the front sight post, instead of right on top of it. This gives you a clearer sight picture. To use the iron sights, simply lower your head some and they line up.

I have a RRA with a Dominator and an EOTech mounted. I feel like the Dominator gives the shooter more options in how the individual wants the sight picture to look. You can have the EOTech dot in the upper 2/3 of the glass, with the iron sights in the lower third. or...... I have mine set up so that the EOTech dot is "resting" on top of the front sight post.

With the EOTech turned off, I line the target up so it's sitting on top of the front post.

With the EOTech turned on, the dot will be point of impact (zeroed at 100 yards). This way, I have the same cheek-weld either way, and don't have to shift the position of anything.

This is a highly subjective subject, and my comments are just what suits me.
