What's your off-the-beaten-track dream gun?

Thanks for all the great replies, folks. I'd also like a Norinco Type 86S. Why I'd want to spend big money on a rinky-dink Chinese bullpup semi-auto AK knockoff I don't know, but it hits a perfect balance between crude, futuristic, and ugly that I like.

I've had a VP70 since they were first imported years ago. They are different.

Ever since I shot the Browing BAR in 1956 I wanted one. I've thought about buying the semi auto version, but it's just not the same thing.

Recently, the first time I saw a picture of the Kel Tec PLR I wanted one and bought the first one I saw.

Saw a custom Ruger GP-100 in .44 Special. Can't remember who makes 'em. What a sweet piece that's gotta be!
Clements makes them, but the conversion runs about $1400 on your gun. I'd rather put half that into a S&W 696.

Someday I'd like to own a nice Mannlicher-Schoenauer in 6.5 M-S.
Me too. I want the full stock model.

Chris

Wouldn't mind one of those Gepard rifles.

Or a G11.

For pistols, I'd like to have a P7M13 someday.

Or for an exotic gun, wouldn't mind a version of the .454 Joshua from Hellsing. (wouldn't mind their sniper, either)

Of course, my only real dream would be for the UK to get some sensible gun laws like the US has, instead of the "sensible" laws we have now.

I had mine built with a 4" pencil barrel for a S&W model 64 installed on what had been a 3" HB S&W model 65 with a round butt grip frame, it has been moonclipped and had a target trigger and hammer installed. I got a set of Hogue Bantams and this make for a nice belt gun for walking woods and basic HD. My only problem is with the load I have been using it shoots about 3 inches high and to the right about 3". I might have the front sight milled off and put on a taller black blade with a gold bead.

I'd go for a LNIB 4" regulation police in 38 S&W. I had one once, but it was in much rougher condition...........Essex

This one is easy for me. For years, there is one gun that, in my opinion, is unusual and off the beaten track that I have thought about buying but yet never can seem to bring myself to order one. that little gem is the Medusa Model 47. I am not one for SHTF threads but I have always in the back of my mind thought this would be a good SHTF sidearm as ammo would be a lot easier aquire than say a single caliber weapon.

Madsen

The Madsen M47/Colombian M1958 Rifle Caliber .30.06:cool:
Built for a people who on average are much shorter/lighter
fully adjustable rear peep sight wind/elv, muzzle brake so simple,:scrutiny:
rubber recoil pad nice on a 30.06 this short/light
Great stock Had one let it go what was I thinking. 98percent:(

Once I wanted a Ramline Exactor pistol. The "aerospace technology" and "syn-tech" name translates to the ugliest Buck Rogers pistol I have seen. This picture captures its most attractive qualities:

Vietnam era Bushmaster

NOT to be confused with the Bushmaster company that now makes plain old AR-15's, the original bushmaster was sort of a .223 SMG sized gun with the 30 round .223 clip going into the gun BEHIND the trigger, and if I recall correctly the clip and the rear part of the gun would swing to the right or left to accomodate the shooter's forearm. Obviously, the internal setup and firing mechanism was completely alien to a normal AR-15 configuration, but they were avilable to the public in semi-auto version and weren't priced that high, either.

A real full auto BAR would be a fun thing to have.

Some curiousities from the former CCCP would be a Degtyaryev DP light machine gun or PPSh submachine gun.

No interest in the semiauto versions of any of these, though the BAR and PPSh I believe are readily available as semiautos.

How about this one? A Szecsei & Fuchs bolt action double rifle:

http://www.connecticutshotgun.com/guns/8731.htm
FUCHS - Double Barrel Bolt Action Rifle, Repeater, .375 H & H, 6 shot capacity, pistol grip, cheek piece, leather covered pad, express sights, sling swivels, aluminum fitted case, over a 2 year wait for an order.

$49,995 plus engraving

OR (and more realistically)...I've always really wanted a Freedom Arms revolver with a 4 3/4" barrel, chambered in .475 Linebaugh or .454 Casull.

I agree g36-uk, A ,454 casull autoloader would be killer :what: Especialy if it looked just like the one from hellsing. Imagine everyones reaction if you pull it out at the range:evil:

Saw that Medusa in Popular Mechanics once. I'd love one ^_^

.600 NE break-top revolver - the "Earth Shaker" - used in Bubblegum Crisis 2032 as an anti-cyborg sidearm by officer Leon McNichol.

Hezi SM-1 - bullpup M1 carbinoid. Preferably tan, maybe black

Bushmaster M17s - bullpup Bushmaster ARoid. Almost very Seburo, with proper trim, this *would* be a Seburo.

LeMat in .357 and 20ga (or 12ga if I'm feeling peculiarly masochistic -- wait, the FRAG-12 grenades won't be made in 20ga. Definitely 12.)

Bushmaster Armpistol with myoelectric solenoid trigger, embedded in blue enameled gauntlets - for those times when playing Mega Man X just isn't enough. Bonus points for muzzle-whistles and tracers.

Carbon-15 pistol with 100 or 200-round drum, registered auto sear, and lots of tracers.

Whatever big-bore pocket auto Armitage carried in "Armitage the 3rd".

Pancor Jackhammer with modified Barrett muzzle brake and lots and lots of FRAG-12 grenades.

Barrett M82a2 bullpup heavy (.50bmg) rifle

Maadi-Griffin MG6 .50 semiauto, with custom drum-and-belt magazine, cut down into the Mardi-Gras .50 Entry Weapon. With lots of Raufoss exploding tracers and a high-powered green laser sight for that Halo feeling.

The Magnum from Halo 1, complete with teleoptic scope and exploding hollowpoints with a tungsten rod driven down the center. (Beastly!)

Covenant plasma pistol

PPG (Babylon 5)

BH-209i and AP-130b (Schlock Mercenary... no direct links, you'll enjoy finding 'em for yourself!)

Hm.

Hard to top the AP-130 with a neural linkage targeting system. :D

I don't know the maker or the model, but the rifle Tom Selleck used in "Quigley Down Under"
I've been an HK fan for a long time...I've shot the VP70...had the chance to buy one and passed. There are other HK's I'd like P9S in 45 acp & 9mm and maybe a P7M7
Yeah, that would be nice...

I'd like a Krag with modern steel and dual locking lugs in, say, .30-06 or .308.

I just love that old side-box magazine.

Barrett M82A2 50 BMG shoulder fired variant.

Barrett XM-500 50 BMG bullpup with barrel cut sown to 16".

Han Solo's blaster.
