IIRC, earlier model, longer barrel. The K-31 was the "new, improved" version of the K-11. Or something like that.

Be careful with that K-11 nomenclature.

There was a 1911 carbine (Karabiner) variant, which was closer to the later K-31 in overall length.

There was also the true 1911 rifle, which was this long with 30.7" barrel (my own specimen):

As shown in the excellent Schmidt-Rubin website listed above, this is the true K-11, or Model 1911 carbine, with 23.5" barrel:



Don't confuse the two...
