Hello Everyone,

In the late 1990s I observed a very well equipped couple who were shooting at the rifle range using a very heavy duty steel mount with feet for their spotting scope. The mount was circular and could be locked in place by adjusting a pair of black knobs on the side of it.

I've never seen once since, but wish I had asked as I would like to buy one.

Can anyone direct me to the maker of such a mount or a vendor who might be able to help?

Thank you for the advice.

Scope Mount

Is this what you are thinking of:

They use them at high power matches around here. They are very cool. Although the photo doesn't show it well, they are around 5.5' high. Basically is is a ~1" steel vertical rod with a sliding clamp/mount for your scope. It allows you to very quickly adjust the scope height from a prone shooting position to a standing position which is difficult with a tripod. Also they have a very small footprint that stays out of your way when shooting prone or sitting. Most have weights added for stability.

hope this helps.

Not exactly, but that could definitely work.

The base and mount I saw were very heavy duty and looked overbuilt for the purpose.
