Why not fill all 6 holes in a speed strip for a 5 shooter????
Why did I even fill a speed strip for a Moon clip gun any way??Duh!!!

My 60-4 is a 38 spec and it is a great all around gun. It is definitely more controllable than a snubbie, Loaded with 38 +p 125 gr JHP it makes a nice SD gun that is accurate and quite controllable. Drop in some 158 gr LSWC makes for a good all around load for most any thing whether loaded hot or not 158 grs does very well. drop in some 148 gr WC and it is accurate for small game and target time.

The 60 while heavier that most J frames it is still easy to drop in my big pockets and easy to slip IWB while not obtrusive as a "kit" gun while hiking or biking in a black belt holster.
The 60 will in one gun fill in for a pocket gun, SD or bedside gun, Target gun, plinker and small game gun.

While I have my 940 for pocket, my 13 3" for SD/ bedside, and 586 for target/hunting my 60-4 can fit in any of the positions. Besides it is just a fun gun to shoot.

One of these days I'm going to have to start using all the gun photo tips I've picked up from THR... until then, I'll reuse this picture from another thread.

Perfessr, is it just me or is the grip frame on your 586 really cut short? May it's the cameras prospective but it looks like you could only get two fingers on it.

It is an old set of Target grips I have hacked off the bottom end flush with the bottom of the grip frame and smoothed the front and narrowed a little. Much more comfortable and easier to carry, kind of like Magna's with a grip adapter. And yes my pinkie does hang a little below the frame.

Tamara,

You cause me no end of envy. If I were not old enough to be your father and had not already found the love of my life I would be sorely tempted to attempt to strike up a relationship.

You are a true role model for thinking women.

My beloved Model 28 Highway Patrolman.

Got 7 more S&Ws. Just too lazy to photograph them all right now.

Um, I traded in my issue S&W 19 for dual Berettas back when I was in the teams in Hong Kong...yeah... :uhoh:

I absolutely love the 3" K-frame and everytime Tamara posts a pic of that PC-13 I have to wipe my face to get all the drool. Seriously, that is one fine looking gun.

Now Perfessr has to go ahead and post a pic of his fine looking 3" M13.

If either of you ever tire of those guns, please let me know.

Oh, and Guy, that .44 Hand Ejector is one fine looking gun too. Heck, there are too many nice guns here to single them all out so I'll stop here.

Here's just a couple of mine that I really enjoy. Pair of Performace Center 625s....

Saxonpig,

Why the distinction between pre-82 guns and post 83 guns? Did something change around '82 -'83?

Pictures

This has got to be the very best thread out there!. The "collections" are magnificent.

Gunhead: the digital photos of the Smith J frames were outstanding. Sharp, crisp, great detail. (Almost makes me want to go out and buy more of the J frames than I already own.)
What kind of digital camera and what parameters did you use in photographing ?

44Caliber:rolleyes:
