Does anyone like these? I'd guess its easier to speed-load the next magazine. Im not sure what they are called but they are pictured here at the bottom of the grip/frame:

It's called a magwell (Magazine Well). Not really my cup of tea, but seems like a lot of people use them on competition guns.

It's a flared magwell. Smaller ones like that sometimes are put on carry pistols.
Some are much bigger, and for use in IPSC/USPSA shoot competitions where executing a speed reload is an integral part of the game.
