it was a hoot. Anna and Michelle really enjoyed themselves. Sitting around BSing til after midnight was almost as much fun as the shooting too.

and Sandy's chili was definitely one of the highlights

thanks a ton

I second that the BSing and food was as good or better than the shooting.

Everyone needs to try the lemon pie it was awesome.

Well I got close to the Lemon pie but the Dump cake caught my eye. hmmmmmmm.

And the other guys were eyeing the last piece of Lemon pie pretty hard and I didn't want to get caught in the middle. LOL!!!

I wanted to go, but I was overwhelmed with stuff to do after graduating, a bachelor party (which was a range trip...) and some other things. How about some names to go with the faces?

:D

Smoke_Rizen and that 1898 rabbit-eared shotgun.
Nice shooting my friend.

Word is
if one breaks the forearm, one has to shoot the second bird in sporting clays fast as the barrel heats up "right fast". :D

Funny thing is, I totally understand this, and I normally have electrical tape and did not that day just like Smoke-Rizen did not
:D

Smoke_Rizen - we ain't misunderstood, just some folks don't understand is all...:)

The pics of the kids are great.

Art has perfected a "sittin' pose" with "reminds me a story" flavor.

I made a slide show with all the pictures set to music...Slide show

Right click on link and choose "Save Target as"
It's 4.7MB so it may take some time to download. The pictures are a little small due to the compression but I can post a larger version if requested.

More to follow.....

I am using my own website to host the pics and video so that no THR bandwidth is used.

You got it right. The 10th. round on a stage was the really warm one!
But after all my years of welding and use of a cutting torch I've gotten over any show of alarm at the puffs of foul smelling white smoke that come off my hands. I should have some finger prints in a couple more days.
The real drawback of shooting the vintage 1887 Remmie is the lack of available of replacement parts. Four brass pins and some Elmers will have to do until I have time to shape a new one.
You really missed a great weekend Partner.
No finger prints on the left hand, and a numb right hand from loading mags. for the kids, I had to tell them to take a break once in a while, just so I could catch up. But well worth it, the future of the sport holds promise.

Smoke_Rizen,
I finally have most of my fingerprints back, and have lost a few callouses as I do not mess with the torches as I used to.
I mean I can actually sense something is "warm" again. :p

I know about forearms breaking and "gotta shoot the second shot fast".
Barrels do tend to warm up a bit. ;)
Always kept electrical tape handy, worked on Me, the gun, and keeping pellets in the hull reloaded about 8 times past needing tossing. :)

Then again that "whistle" from part of the hull exiting the barrel is sorta neat, and one does not get this with New shells.
Some folks just don't understand certain nuances of shotgunning like us. :D

Should we tell 'em one of the secrets to shotgunning is eating cookies, Lemon Pie and good home cooking like your wife and Sandy does?
Nah...

Oh, you folks are going to listen to me someday about starting kids with revolvers, and single shot .22 rifles.
Oh yeah sure great for the kids...
Saves wear and tear on adult fingers too.

"But they want to shoot a semi auto Steve".

That is what the Marlin 60 is for. :D

I may be dumb, I ain't stupid.

Yes my friend, I really wanted to attend, instead serious matters to attend to here crept up rather fast.
I will make out someday.
I expect you, your wife and Sadie to watch my six as Sandy wields a mean cast iron skillet, and will be chasing me to bop my noggin'.
Good thing Larry has short legs, he is easy to outrun as you know...:p

Steve

MarshallDodge, that second slide show is even better than the first one. I like the addition of "The Future" with the kids.

Justin, if Bud makes it through an entire day without hurting himself, it's truly an event. :p
