Giuliani Questioned About Gun Control

"I'm a strict constructionist. The Second Amendment says you have an individual right to bear arms."

Giuliani earned a reputation for strictly enforcing gun laws while New York mayor.

I hate that guy.

He is a fake and a liar. A couple months ago he was saying it was an issue that should be left to the states, despite conducting nation wide efforts as a city mayor. Now he is acting like he has been on board all along, reminds me of how John Kerry described stalking whitetail on his belly, and how Mitt Romney proclaims to be a life long hunter despite only having been hunting twice.

It bears repeating: we shouldn't care which candidate hunts and which one doesn't. The 2nd Amendment is about defense.

What Rudy is really saying is "Guns are legal, but I get to decide which ones"

And lest we forget: also which licensed law enforcement personnel actually get to use them to defend Rudy (but nobody else).

Jeebjus, Standing Wolf, I though I had a posting problem!

21,500+

That's awesome!

Anyway, if I have to choose (and I gave a little money to the Paul campaign, no others so far), I'll take Guiliani's fear of gun owner reprisal over Hillary's power lust or Obama's "ban all semiautos" platform (I doubt he even knows what a semiauto is -- my wife has explained it to one liberal who wanted to ban them, but now that she understands what they are, she doesn't any more).

I hope I don't have to choose between Guiliani and Clinton. But frankly, I'd MUCH rather have Guiliani's judges deciding future 2nd Amendment cases, than Hillary's or Obama's.

If you don't understand this, GET INFORMED NOW. Understand SCOTUS. The future of our liberties has more to do with justices than some emotional reaction to a candidate, no matter how vile.

And actually even that point needs clarification. The 2nd Amendment is not simply about defense. It has no more to do with protecting yourself from criminals than it does about hunting.

It is about defending yourself from tyranny... specifically politicians like Rudy Giuliani.

Rudy, Hillary, and Obama are all cut from the same cloth. No way I can vote for any of them. You run a talking Fungo against them and it would get my vote!

After seeing what the repubs did to New Jersey I would rather have a dem than an anti repub. At least then Some in congress might fight it instead of supporting the great leader.

I see no reason to defame fakes and liars by comparing them to that RINO cockroach.

HAHA. The sad part is this will be another election year where we, as citizens, get to choose between a ****** bag and a turd sandwich. Yay for us!

I live in NYC and I can honestly say that he will say whatever he thinks you want to hear and then do whatever he wants to. While he was Mayor he was constantly saying to the press how we need to "get rid of the guns".

Thats why my vote either goes to Duncan Hunter or Brownback. A libertarian canidate will never carry enough support so it is ill advised to cast a vote in thier favor. Vote for a Republican like Duncan Hunter he is former military and a good conservative and understands the support of the gun owning americans.

You need to look past the current rhetoric by all the candidates and look at what they did in the past. Rudi does not get my vote based on his past. Hillary does not get my vote because of her past. She is a communist. It does not matter what she says today. If the two run against each other, I don't know how I will vote. Unfortunately, it would probably be for Rudi as he is the lesser of two evils. My goal is that neither of them are selected to be the chosen party candidate for the presidency. Rudi is hung up on 9-11 and wants to take away any of our rights that he thinks will help in the fight against the future terrorism threat. I want to stay armed so I can fight terrorism and tyranny.

Not me. I'd rather Hillary be POTUS than Guiliani. I'd rather get the revolution started sooner rather than later...

Mr. Lies with forked tongue is seen wearing no clothes in Colorado:

http://www.rmgo.org/alerts/2007-Rudy.shtml

April 17, 2007 - Yesterday, Republican Presidential candidate Rudolph Giuliani held a fundraiser in Denver.

Hosted at the mansion/home of former Denver Nuggets star Kiki Van De Weghe, the event was meant as a strict money gatherer for Giuliani's frontrunner campaign.

Only one problem: Giuliani is adamantly anti-gun, with a record to prove it.

Being the first in a series of collaborative efforts between Rocky Mountain Gun Owners and the National Association for Gun Rights, we wanted this one to be a surprise (to both the organizers of the event and the attendees). Rest assured we'll let you know when there is another event.

A small number of hardcore RMGO activists met outside the Cheeseman Park mansion, where valet attendants waited for the rich (tickets were $4000+ apiece for the personal discussion) to meet with the former New York mayor.

Dressed in nice clothes, with smiles on our faces, we handed out this flyer (http://www.nagr.org/Giuliani.pdf) to the fatcats as they walked in.

Thinking we were part of the event staff, they happily took the flyer as we said "If you care about your right to own firearms you'll want to see the incredible anti-gun record of Mayor Giuliani's."

Responses always vary, but few refused the flyer. Even John Elway read it, and seemed to be shocked by the label of "Liberal" on a Republican.

You can read the Rocky Mountain News account of the event here.

Friends, this kind of thing hurts politicians. It's extremely demoralizing to a politician and their staff when people aren't fawning all over them, trying to shake their hand, get a picture with them, and "get access" to someone with the kind of star power a frontrunner for president generates.

Even more effective is the affect this kind of activity has on politicians and political operatives who attend these events. They see an organized group going after someone who could become the next President of the United States. If a group has the guts to go after someone with that kind of power, they certainly will go after a State Legislator who votes wrong. It can do nothing but improve their behavior.

I like to call these events "Accountability Activities". Hold politicians accountable, and it's remarkable what we can accomplish.

Undoubtedly, this pressure (remember, they are in a battle to secure the Republican nomination, where being a conservative is the only thing that counts) will make them lie. Hours after the Virginia Tech shooting, Sen. John McCain (who may be more anti-gun than Giuliani) issued a statement saying this tragedy had not changed his mind on guns. Clearly, his campaign people saw the tragedy as a way to position McCain closer to gun owners, who can have an inordinate sway over who becomes the GOP nominee. But it's all a farce, as McCain's long record on guns reveals.

Of course, there are groups out there who will provide cover for these politicians. We'll try to tell you when that happens, but you'll need to apply a lot of your own discernment.

This election season you're going to be told a lot of things that simply aren't true.

One thing you're sure to hear from every Republican candidate is "I support the Second Amendment." Don't let that statement stand on face value.

"I'm a strict constructionist. The Second Amendment says you have an individual right to bear arms."

Did he mean constitutionalist? No, probably not. He meant he can construct the constitution to fit his agenda.

I loathe that guy. Theres now way he can win anyhow. Between his divorce and that fiasco with him trying to move his girlfriend into the mayors mansion in NYC, and now his flip flop on gun control. No way, not happening.
