Is it legal to carry on a cruise ship?

Said ship departs San Diego, dock in Cabo, Encinada, and returns to SD.
I would assume that one couldn't carry onto Mexican soil, but what about on board?
Is it up to the ship?

No ideas here, will probably call and ask, I'm fairly certain of the answer but I'd like to hear if there are any first hand experiences.

Thanks I do forget about the search now and again. Doesn't look good.
Thanks, leaving it at home.

They gave me great grief when I left Vancouver for Alaska on a Royal Carribean cruise over a Swiss Army pocket knife...and that was in 1997. They kept it until I got off the ship. I can imagine in the hyper sensitive times we live in how they would have a bigger melt down now. I suspect they would just pitch the knife in the water. I would not even attempt to take a gun...

Another example.

Is your drivers license good in Cabo?

Just another example of how Governments have screwed up simple, basic human rights and gun rights in particular.

The ship itself is foreign territory (most cruise ships registered in Panama, Bahamas, or Liberia). If it were a U.S. registered vessel the Captain is responsible for anything on the ship and most assuredly would not let you keep you weapon. You will be treated as a terrorist if you try to bring a firearm aboard any cruise ship.

Like it or not you need to follow the laws of whatever country you're in in order to stay out of jail.

Well, that's just one more reason to not waste money on a stinking cruise. I hate crowds anyway, and dressing up just to get fed, no way!

What ever happened to the trap shooting that used to be a regular feature of cruises?

Carnival Cruise From Galveston

The cruise ship out of Galveston (Carnival) the wife and I was on banned any pocket with blades over 3.5 inches.

Jamaican customs took my knife when we tried to reboard. They had a metal detector they set up and had us empty pockets. The customs wench said "You can not have this, mon!" We proceeded to argue about it and I accused her of just wanting the knife. The missus was tugging on me and giving me her patented "look". Selling ganja outside the cruise terminal and customs worried about my knife.

I finally walked off and boarded, vowing to never again go to Jamaica. It is a s#*t hole.

YMMV

Anygun

Even if it were legal to carry on a cruise ship, you'd still be in trouble once you enter Mexican territorial waters, even if the gun never leaves the ship.
