I love them. I've had several over the years, though only two Paras remain in my collection right now. Besides some interesting innovations like the high-cap 1911, the double action 1911 and the world's best internal extractor (the Para Power Extractor), Para has done a great job at offering high quality, high-content 1911's at a good price. In my view, the Para line of traditional single action, single stack 1911's, such as the SSP (full size) and LTC (commander), are the best values in the market for new, "loaded" 1911's. My SSP (pictured on the bottom in the pic below with a Colt and a Kimber) is the only 1911 I've ever owned that didn't need any work at all. Out of the box it has been 100% reliable with everything from ball to JHP to lead SWC. The trigger is crisp and acceptably light (4.8 pounds), and it is as accurate a 1911 as I have ever owned. All that, and I paid $595 brand new for it.

I also had an LDA Para, the CCW, that I carried for some time before I transitioned fully to a traditional 1911. I would still be carrying a Para daily today if they made one in the configuration I want (alloy-framed CCO).
