Well - let me start off buy saying that I love my Colt Lightweight Commander. It has been throated to feed anything and points almost perfect for me.

The only thing is that I am a little weary about shooting the damn thing. How long would the aloy frame last if it were shoot alot range gun? I dont think I will make the gun into a shoot alot range gun..........I just hate to think I am cutting the lightweight short and not shoot it much at all.

Just looking for others point of view. I have a full size Springer for a beater....this one rides on my side more though

Just looking for some decent lightweight discussion I guess.

Mine was bought used in 1997. I replaced all the internals and blazed away. IDPA, speed steel, bowling pins and even IPSC.

Ten years later I still put a 400-500 rounds of wimpy practice ammo through it a year. It shares carry duty with an XD45 Service.

Change out the recoil spring once in a while and run standard pressure ammo and you'll be fine.
