WASR 10, how bad are they?

I purchased one locally for $360 including tax. It has a Tapco trigger with 100 yards of creep. I was able to pick through the rifles on the rack, and made sure that the front sight base was mounted straight on the barrel. I love precision made firearms, something as well built as a K31 just makes my day. A WASR-10 is about as exciting as a muddy shovel.

So I cleaned my WASR, took it to the range. Zeroed the thing with steel case Chinese Soft Point. It must have a tight chamber as I had to bump the operating rod on the first round out of the magazine. It will shoot three inch groups at 50 yards, and will not stay in the black at 100 yards. But it will stay on paper.

So what, it went bang each and every time. That’s all I wanted. I fired something like 120 rounds, several reloads through the magazines. And at fifty yards, it is a great rock buster.

As a design, Mikhail Kalashnikov created what has to be the best general purpose battle rifle issued in the 20th Century.

wasr

I paid $390 for my wasr and am very happy with it.Yes these rifles sometimes need minor tweaking but for the money imho u cant beat them.As long as you know what to look for a wasr can be a great rifle. 10-19-07018.jpg

i haven't really liked any of the wasr's that i have used, but they do work and that isn't because they werent reliable, and rugged, i would spend the same amount or a little more and look at the yugos.
