ICORE pros and cons

Pros - You get to shoot stuff. :)

I don't shoot any pistol action type stuff, but I figure anything where you get to get outside and shoot something can't be all bad.

Cons. You have to shoot a revolver.

Fun times. I wish there was more ICORE clubs around here.

Only con I see( never shot it) is lack of clubs. Which is why I've never shot it. Of course I still have to get out and run my 625 in USPSA.

ICORE is nothing but good--unless you are a diehard equipment geek, competition to the death sort of type A personality. They are competitive on the firing line, but that's where they leave it.

This is a VERY supportive group of people who are easy to talk to and emphasize enjoying the sport. Real ladies and gentlemen. Gamesmanship is at a minimum.

They are also lavishly supported by Smith and Wesson, who supplied upwards of 25 to 30 guns for the International Revolver Championship (IRC) matches I attended or participated in.

One downside is that the same people are continuously getting stuck with administration of the club for lack of member involvement. Not an uncommon problem with clubs. I am one of the guilty, having done only two stints on the match official crew for the IRC and match director for a couple of local matches.
