Well my ever entrepreneurial, albeit poor self just had an idea.

I've always tried to spot THR members at gun shows, shooting ranges, gun stores etc. How? I don't know. I often wonder if the gun counter guys know about this site, or maybe they're one of the regulars.

I always come up with a comment to break the ice at gun ranges: "Hey, nice .40, I've never shot that gun in .40, mind if we switch off for a mag?". I think a good ice breaker is in order for us THR users.

Anytime I get into chats with a guy about firearms, I always end up promoting this site, "You on THR? No? You should check it out man, it's a great resource." etc. At our school range the president graciously put up a sign "TheHighRoad.org will answer your questions."

So the selling point for this idea is to:
1. Be able to spot THR members at firearms related gatherings, gun shows, gun stores, gun ranges, etc.
2. Won't be overly bulky, showy, obtrusive, and tell tale.
3. Easy to ignore, and hard not to spot for those "in the know".
4. Make friends, find range buddies, ice breaker, and maybe get THR discounts!
5. Promote THR, and find new members.
6. Only wear it when you feel like it.

What is it you ask? It's a simple wristband!

EX: Lance Armstrong's LIVESTRONG wristband:

Except it would be green and read THR.org or TheHighRoad.org.

Would folks here be interested in one? If there is enough interest I'll go ahead and get into contact and start a small run of these. $5 shipped sound fair?

Of course I'd be willing to give any percentage to THR to support this forum further.

Let me know guys!

-L

P.S. - Mods, Oleg, If this is not allowed or in the wrong section, just let me know!

kinda weird, I don't wear jewelry. I'd be more likely to put a small sticker on the back window of my truck.

lol on the sheepdog pin, that was a hilarious escapade.

Yes yes I did consider the sheepdog pin disaster before I posted. But it is fundamentally different.

Just spot a THR member, nothing to do with concealed weapons or a secret attack force of gun toting ninjas.

I'm not too afraid of the jests, it is just an idea.

It never hurts to ask right?

+1 to trublue 1776 I'd like to see a window sticker for the back of my truck. Would still be interested in a T-shirt.

Or a badge. THR badges would be cool. Maybe they could have a little sheepdog or ninja on them too. :D

I might put a THR bumper sticker on my car or truck. Maybe a simple white oval with THR in the center. I'd also wear a THR hat to a gun show.

if some one wants to make s Tshirt that says RKBA on the front with a copy of 2A on the back. i wouldnt need the wristband. right now im wearing one of 2 Life Liberty Etc pro gun shirts in a south eastern MA college.

be open about it
be strong aboit it
theres not much YOU can loose compared to US or Me.

I can usually spot other THR members by the THR shirts and hats that they wear to THR functions.

Our own Correia tends to do a run or two of shirts and hats each year. Keep an eye peeled for his announcements.

I do a run of THR shirts and hats a couple of times a year. Basically as soon as I feel like there is enough interest, I'll take preorders and run shirts.

Anything that is going to have the THR logo on it needs Oleg's direct approval.

Hey Bogie, I don't have a Paypal account... any chance on you taking credit cards?

ETA: I know it would cost you more to porcess the credit cards, you can figure that in with a new price for non-paypal transactions. $5 would be cool.

Funny, but might be found offensive by some.

Something we have to remember, guys; When we promote 2A and anything else RKBA, we need to do it in a non-offensive fashion. We're trying to win people over, not say "yeah, I got guns. If you don't, piss on ya"

hank tank, you don't need a paypal account to pay him with paypal. he just needs a paypal account to receive money.

paypal will happily take your credit card

Bordelmo, ninja secret-handshake jokes aside, I think it's a good, contemporary idea. Personally, I don't wear t-shirts much, and I'm not a ballcap guy. And one more sticker on the truck at 65mph doesn't do much to break the ice or start conversation.

No, it's not in-your-face activism like a t-shirt with the 2A on it, but neither is it supposed to be that type of activism. I really don't see it as a CCW badge  or sheepdog pin either, any more than any other 2A or firearm/hunting t-shirt.

If a THR hat is ok, then this is ok.

Sure, I'd get one for $5, especially if some part of the proceeds went to support the site.
