Used Guns in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

Don't know. Around home (Butler), which is sorta-kinda in the Pittsburgh area, there's three stores that I know of.

Patty's Guns, in Lyndora (very small, one room the size of a tool shed, but good prices. She's also the only FFL around here who will ship handguns USPS). No website.

Sportsman's Supply, in Butler (fairly large, good to average prices). http://www.sportsmanssupplyco.com/

Gun World, in Harrisville (huge, ridiculously high prices, like MSRP + 50%). Don't think they have a website.

Something like 1/3rd to 1/2 of the guns for sale are used, at Patty's and Sportsman's Supply, IIRC. It's been awhile since I've been to either.

Ryan, You're dead on with your comments about Gun World. The times I stopped in there, I thought the same thing. The last time it was all I could do not to laugh at the guy who told me that the M44 they had for $175 was a one of a kind WWII collectible.

Mr Designer, come out to the middle of the state. There are a few good used gun stores between Clearfield, Huntingdon, Altoona and Williamsport.

If you happen to be looking for a 1911, Gander Mountain in Greensburg has a Norinco .45acp for $249+tax/background check. It has an aftermarket safety and slide stop, but overall looked pretty good. I'd have grabbed it myself but i need a better safe before more guns.

A house to put the safe in, would be nice too. God i need to find a house.

Thanks for the heads up .
Thought I would call this Morning and see if they still
had it .
They did and it seems pretty nice .:)

Got to meet another Nice Fella that also saw the post here .

You have to give me a range report when you fire it. :)

I need to know if i should kick myself harder than i was when I was driving away. I'm always leery of used 1911 with obviously aftermarket parts on them.

Oh, does the safety seem a little home-made to you???

Glad a THR-er got it :)

Got to shoot the Norinco today .
It shot Great no stoppages at all .
100 rounds of my reloads .
Don't know much about gun parts but the safeties work fine .
Previous owner left some things in the case all were
Wilson parts . I wish he used blued though .

Gertting back to OP , Pafoa like mentioned above has great links.
Also that Wal-mart shoot looks like Fun !

Happy Easter , Bill

East coast is a nice store. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and knowledgable, they have a good and diverse selection of stuff. Lots of hunting guns, a few milsurps and a good AR department. Good supply of reloading components and supplies if you're into that.

If you're in Altoona, you gotta go to Pioneer in Altoona too. He has a lot of milsurp stuff, old Garands, Springfields, lots of AKs and SKSs, stuff like that. Plus lots of cool stuff to look at. Prices never really impressed me, but its a pretty cool store to visit if just to look around.

I've bought a couple guns from Anthony Arms in West Mifflin (8 miles south of Pittsburgh, across the street from the Allegheny county airport.). They aren't much for military surplus, AK's, and AR's but they have a very wide selection of pistols and deer rifles. Their staff is all very knowledgeable and customer friendly, except for one guy who really gets under my skin, if you've been their you'll know who i'm talking about. Also, they probably have the best gun smith in the county, he very reasonable on his pricing too.
